I've tested a lot of printers, and this one is a decent choice for a budget all-in-one that can print photos as well as normal business and school documents

However it does print out decent quality photos, and clear black text documents.

Still doesn't scan wirelessly (my HP printer did) and had to get usb port to scan an important and time-sensitive document a few days ago

if you have wireless signal where you want your printer than you can put your printer there super easy.quality document prints for sure color or gray scale

I like the smaller footprint of this printer and set up was pretty easy.

Great printer, great price - but they will make up for it on your ink purchases.

Due to the scarcity of ink suppliers, the price for ink cartridges is not worth it for the quality of the printer.

Color looks vibrant and there's no graininess, no paper bleed on the various papers we've tried

The photo print is outstanding with vibrant color and clear image.

Then I had to admit that this looks pretty sleek on the desk, a stylish color and build

Also, I don't readily see how I can 'adjust' color or B&W tonal ranges to enhance the printed pages - and I haven't printed a photo yet.

We even prefer this printer over our much more expensive color laserprinter (also from Canon).Definitely recommend this for anyone where space is limited, and high quality output is needed.

Being able to print from your phone is such an amazing feature that I'm sure I will use a lot

The WORST FEATURE is this printer just starts printing something random I looked at a week ago but never selected to print and wastes my ink!!!!

Another not so great feature is that the operations panels has to be lifted up for it to operate which isn't convenient

I realize faxes are obsolete but that function would be a nice added feature.

The wireless feature works well so that we can now print with all our laptops, desktop, iPhones and iPad from any where in our house

It is not the speediest, nor the best print quality, but it is what you would expect from a budget printer

I give this 2 stars only because it prints nice photos (if you can afford to do that) and was easy to connect to the iPad and iPhone.

The more expensive models in this line include CD oprinting, ethernet and 6 cartridges for better photo reproduction, but the 5 cartridges in this model do just fine for photos

That said, it is not a "super" photo printer in that it will not print photos on plain paper as well as the HP printers in this range

I am very good with computers and printers but this is the absolutely worst Canon printer I have ever had, and I've been a fan of Canon for many years

You are left with either getting gouged from original cartridges from Canon, OR go the manual refill route and then being unable to see ink levels because Canon has chipped the cartridges just to defeat/frustrate economical users who would rather spend their money on something else than overpriced ink

Ink Cartridges: Sneaky Canon

yetCONS- the horrible front paper tray design prevents printing without the control panel (with touchscreen) being flipped completely up, sending annoying error messages, driving me crazy, and making me wonder why the designers even allowed it to move down for any purpose other than moving- the front paper loading tray feels flimsy and clumsy when adding more paper, and there is an annoying removable black coverflap whose purpose is unclear- the rear paper loading tray also feels a little fragile (like it could almost break when you extend it up) and is designed in such a way that the paper doesn't lie flat, so having paper there long-term is probably not wise- during ink cartridge installation, while the LED screen did try to guide me though the process, it was annoying that the animation had to restart when I flipped up/down the control panel

There were two 'surprises', one of which was a false alarm but the other is a valid design flaw:1) (false alarm) - printing of the 'printer head alignment page' took

It is not the speediest, nor the best print quality, but it is what you would expect from a budget printer

The wireless printing is a great perk, and the print quality respectable and the printing time efficient

The multi ink tank system does prevent the issues that come with the two cartridge (BW and color) systems of some low end printers

Don't buy this printer, unless you can find reasonable ink in advance.

However, it is kind of bulky and does use more ink than I expected it to--perhaps a trade-

So if I leave the door open, it prints by itself and wastes my ink.

When we removed the paper jam a piece of the printer fell out and we have no clue where it is supposed to go

The printer has arrived, but will only print one sheet before indicating a paper jam (which is not the case)

just cause it is loud and I got a couple of paper jam issues in the short amount of time I got it
