The blue back light is not too bright or blinding, which is good.
I personally prefer a dim light to it compared to something that'll catch my eye at night.
Plus, has a nice blue light... not too bright, and a bonus 2.4 port
The only reason it's not getting a 5-star rating is that I've had to position it "just so" because the internal LED lighting is distracting to me at night
Blue light is nice when you are trying to find the inlet in the dark or at night.

I have it constantly plugged into my car and it does not drain the battery
My iPhone 6S has a really bad battery life, but this charger usually restores about 20%+ in just a 15 minute car ride
Now I just lay awake at night wondering if the blue LED is draining my car battery.
This charger allows me to run navigation apps and actually charge the battery instead of draining it.
