My suggestion to the manufacturer is to attach a support which can be easily positioned to brace the extension on the dash and dampen vibration coming through the windshield and dashboard to add stability and readability on rougher roads.

I went on a very curvy, bumpy road and it stayed in place

Very sturdy and doesn't come loose even if the road is rough.

had it squeezed tight and went down a slightly bumpy road and it dropped my phone and bent my brand new 25 dollar charger ugh :(

I drive a tow truck on some pretty rough roads so as you can imagine it's not the nicest ride

Moves a little on bumpy roads, you have to tighten down quite a bit to keep it steady.

However on slightly rough roads, there was considerable movement making the GPS map hard to read.

I found that on smooth roads, the phone (Galaxy S5 in an Otterbox defender case and weighing 7 ounces) was reasonably steady meaning that there was slight movement of the phone and my GPS application, Waze, worked well and was easy to read.

I was however initially confused as to how the tri-pod stand worked but after playing with it for a little bit and looking at photos on line I was able to figure it out

I bought this Car Phone Mount, Vansky 3-in-1 Universal Phone Holder Cell Phone Car Air Vent Holder Dashboard Mount Windshield Mount hoping to use it with my iPad as well as with my iPhone 8plus, it will not work!!
