These cables are excellent, and they have a soft and flexible outer covering that is sturdy but not rigid.

The connectors are metal, and they have rubber or neoprene flexible pieces where the cable enters each metal connector, where the rubber or neoprene flexible pieces relieve the strain when the cable bends or whatever, thereby protecting the cable from bending at a right angle and breaking the inside wires.

Both connectors are male, which is the correct configuration for interconnecting standard MIDI devices.

Some midi devices work with only these 3 pins, however not all (such as mine) do not!

When I received the item, the "MIDI - Standard 3 pins wired" was circled in black magic marker

Maybe both options are available.
