The fine-tuning tuners are also very difficult to turn and adjust
I downloaded a free tuner and tuned the strings according to a quick Google search, and I rosined my bow with the help of wikihow
Teacher asked to have tail piece and fine tuners replaced.
The built-in fine tuners strip easily and get stuck, requiring a replacement of the tailpiece if you want to be able to use them to tune the cello (if you can get the pegs to stay)4

I think this is a great option that wasn't available to me when I started playing.
If you are looking for a cello that you can take home and play right away it might be a better option to spend more money to buy a cello off the rack at a local music store that is allready set up
Again this is a great option for someone wanting to start cello but not wanting to spend a lot of cash
Like many others I weighed my options when my 5th grader asked to play the cello

a Wal-Mart kids interment would have been a better buy.
If you don’t feel comfortable doing a little DIY work and have a local music store that would set it up for you for a reasonable price, this cello would still be a good buy
In conclusion, If you are someone like me this cello is an excellent buy

Not only is it more difficult for students to hear the pitch and learn to tune, but the tone is so bright that many tuners pick up the 5th or the 3rd instead of the root.
It does not have a deep rich tone like a higher quality cello would, but it's also not priced like a higher quality cello (It's a bit tinny).
These strings bring a warmer tone than the ones that come with the cello
Tone is terrible
With this to me even though it is a plywood cello it still has a decent tone for the price

While I understand that this is an inexpensive beginners cello, it should look good and not be a frustration to play.
Otherwise for the price which includes a stand and a case this is a good beginner's cello kit.
I forgave so many things thinking that since my son was a beginner it must be used error but after three months the bow has lost almost 1/4 of the hairs.
It honestly is a crap-shoot, but I got a decent beginner instrument for the price

After months of intense research, and disregarding a number of negative reviews, we purchased the full sized Cecilio CCO-100 Student Cello for our granddaughter, who intends to continue playing in her junior high school orchestra in the upcoming school-year.
The negative reviews made me a little wary, but it arrived without a scratch
I was nervous because of the negative reviews but decided to try anyway
After weeks of shopping for a used one I decided that despite the MANY negative reviews I would take my chances and buy the CCO-100
