This telescope is great for looking at the moon gives a fairly clear view

We've seen some pretty nice views of the moon, had everything focused and lined up and as soon as we drop in the 4mm lens, nothing

You'll do a lot of manual work finding and keeping a subject in view, but the view is great - especially for the low cost

The worst thing about this telescope is that, once you have it set up, it doesn't stay locked in place, so you can't get a good, stable view of anything.

We live in a rural area on top of a mountain so in that aspect we have some of the best views of the night sky

but you can see this with pretty much anything, The equatorial mount was best and viewing was best of the moon

You won't see the planets this large through the eyepiece but the views are still great.

Clear view of moon

I must mention that to see these objects i had to purchase a cheap "combo" lens kit per say to get a very nice and enlarged view of the planets, though i feel like the included lenses would suffice

After you spent time collimating it, then the views are pretty good for the price you pay.

When trying to look through it, even a slight tap on the scope will cause it to shudder and make viewing difficult until it dies down.

Again, collimation and upgraded lens kit on this telescope and you will be well on your way to some incredible views of the night sky.

First night I have very nice views of the Moon with every crater in perfect focus

The major issue is that it doesn't focus very well, there are plenty of aberrations that don't let you have a crystal clear view of stars, especially when using eyepieces 20 mm or less

- Get a cell phone camera mount so you can take great pictures with your phone and share your neat viewing experiences with your friends.

Just having the kitchen light on in the house ruined our views from out in the yard

It boast very frustrating viewing of planets and not being able to

it exactly a clear view. not easy to alight the leans sight.

The correcting lens blurs the view when looking through the focuser and a laser spot is diffused and spread out over a larger area, making it nearly useless.

The scope is a bit annoying to get aligned, but once it is aligned, the views are amazing and very clear

The veredict: I don't recommend this telescope for a kid or even a teenager, the learning curve is somewhat steep and without the modifications I made and without quality eyepieces, it's very hard to get decent views of the sky; I recommend this telescope for a young adult or any beginner or aspiring astronomer with the patience and skill to modify it to take it to its full potential.

if you look at the high power eyepieces in it, you'll note the crazy small eye relief and figure out right away it will be a bad viewing experience

Perhaps that unit was defective but again two days with this telescope and I am already getting amazing pictures and view of the planets in our solar system

I only gave 3 stars because once I got somebody from the astronomical society to help me, the view was amazing

On my second and third nights I was able to get better views of Jupiter thanks to 8mm and 12.5mm eyepieces, and was also able to view Saturn and see the planet and its rings

My next effort to afford a proper mount and purchase a Refracting Telescope and use software to improve viewing

For any telescope to provide good views, the optical elements must be properly aligned.

Despite the nice price, you won't be able to get the best views possible for a telescope with an aperture of this size

The views of the moon are quite impressive, and to be able to see Jupiter and Saturn well enough to see the colors in the Jupiter cloud bands and to see where Saturn ends and the rings began exceeded my expectations.

I can see the 3 moons around Jupiter, but the largest view of Jupiter I can see is only like a split pea

The barlow works decently well with the 20mm for getting a nice, close view of planets

The flaws do not preclude a good viewing experience

I've gotten better views of the moon with a pair of binos.

Even when using higher quality eyepieces (sold separately) the views were filled with coma and just plain awful
