You need the Alexa app to get the most out of it, including enabling hands-free mode.

Only thing I can really knock off for is that the device is portable and to get the most out of it, needs to be connected to wi-fi

Got a Google Home speaker for Christmas used it for a little while but ultimately not as useful or versatile as the Amazon echo speaker.

Disappointed that I can only use one Echo at a time on Amazon Music Unlimited for Echo.

We have an Echo and a couple of Dots in the house all ready.

Only real complaint is that it doesn't "hear" me as well as an echo.

In fact it sound quality is good as Echo except the bass is not real pronounced but still exceptable.

I wrestled between ordering a Tap or a full size Echo

but I can download Kindle books to listen to and my iPhone is too quiet but the Tap is louder then the dog, traffic and my rolling walker.

I. on the recommendation of two friends regarding the Amazon Tap unit, purchased a certified refurbished unit.

There was never, regardless of what I tried to do, including checking videos on YouTube, any step that would indicate that the unit was ready for setup.

Thought the first was just a bad unit si got a replacement

I found a new Tap for a few dollars more from another commercial seller and I am happy to say that the unit is working perfectly, including the new update that allows hands free usage.

The sound quality is good, the battery life is very good.

The highs/ trebles are clear but the bass is nearly nonexistent,but the smart assistant (alexa) is amazingly usefull and makes up for the previous fact

(Also, weirdly, I once used my Tap as a morning alarm to a specific song, but a few days later Alexa informed me that Tap did not have the capability to do that

This lost a star because it does not support multi-room music

The missing stars are due to the lacking support/features present with the other echo devices.
