All n' All this game is cute & colorful & pretty fun and will provide a decent challenge for the kiddies and the novice platformer alike, i would recommend it
Classic side scrolling action with colorful graphics, simple controls, and just plain good ol fun
However, around nightfall, I'll play this game for some good fun before bed and I go to work.

Rescue Rangers might be the best NES game that never gets the love it deserves.
Rescue Rangers isn't the easiest NES game, but it was a lot of fun, kid oriented, pleasing, and fair to beat (though it doesn't take very long due to unlimited continues and a few shortcuts through select levels).
This game was ranked at #77 as one of the best 100 NES releases of all time, according to 2009 survey from the IGN website.

2 player simultaneous, yet cooperatively defeat-able for a younger 6-9 age group
Two-Player is extremely entertaining, especially when you start throwing each other around!

Chip and Dale's bickering was always part of the cartoon, and it's been pretty successfully brought into the game here, since there's both friendly fire and, notably, the ability to pick up and throw the other player like you can other objects.

Each individual stage is set up as a side-scrolling action game where Chip and Dale can walk, jump, duck, and pick up objects such as acorns, crates, barrels, and balls to throw at enemies and bosses
Each character can withstand only three direct hits before they lose a life, and there are no passwords
In two-player mode, Controller 1 is Chip, Controller 2 is Dale
The rest of the Rescue Rangers also appear to support Chip and Dale
Monterey Jack will occasionally appear to break down certain barricades, while Zipper grants temporary invincibility to the player when found
Gadget, though in Fat Cat's captivity, provides tips and advice for the chipmunks in each stage.
