Use for disinfectanting my home laundry & most well on dogs & their bowels
It can also be used for treating wounds as well, which I love
Excellent multi use product for animals, humans and household cleaning
using on a pug with fungal issues 100X cheaper than anything the vet gave us, dilute as needed, works like a charm
Seriously, though, this is the same stuff that surgeons scrub with before surgery, and the same ingredient that they put into the cleanser that patients use before surgery.
Within several days, the skin problem began resolving itself, and I finally have a good solution.
If I get sick I am using this solution to clean surfaces in my home as I have a son who has cancer.
I used this solution on our farm around our animal habitats (barn, coops, etc.) to kill any skin fungus, odor causing bacteria, odor from decomposing feed and hay, and to assist in our fly control.
It is a great cleaning solution for both positive & negative bacterial control
According to all available medical literature on the internet, a 2% solution kills a broad spectrum of micro-bacteria in 21 seconds
IMO, 4% chlorhexidine is better if you have a dog battling a stubborn skin infection such as pyoderma but 2% can be used after the infection has cleared to keep it under control.
I did some research and for human use, it is suggested to dilute to 0.5% for vaginal area cleansing so I checked with my vet and he confirmed that a dog's prepuce is the same sensitivity, so I dilute to 0.5% and use on baby wipes to clean my elderly male dog for diaper changes
I use it to mop my floors, clean showers & tubs, my dog's raw spots, wounds, paws, to clean and disinfect and even use it To spray on them after a bath to keep their skin free of germs
My dog had severe skin infections that resulted from constant scratching and licking
I also use this to desinfect my dogs play pen, crates and bath elevated bathtub
This is an antibacterial and we use it instead of dog shampoo after treating him with a vinegar and Teatree oil mixture for his chronic yeast infection
I use it as an antiseptic for humans and pets, as well as in the laundry to remove musty odors or animal urine
I use chlorhexidine in *every* load of laundry as well as to clean bathrooms and mop floors
And I have it on hand for skin issues that constantly crop up here in the humid south, including stubborn yeast infections.
I use this combined with Earthbath teatree and aloe shampoo on my dog who is super prone to hot spots, yeast infections, and has a flea allergy (spray some chlorhexidine on then suds them up and let it sit on them for 10 minutes before hosing them down and drying them off.) and it works wonders
I use it as an antiseptic for humans and pets, as well as in the laundry to remove musty odors or animal urine
The higher the concentration, the less contact time needed to kill bacteria.
is good as i was washing with hippa only 3 times a week as to much will kill the good bacteria we all
he lets me put it on.. does not seem to mind it much.. where as vinegar and water strong enough to work stings and is smelly.. dog does NOT like.... and THIS will do more than just kill bacteria.. as it works on other problems where a fungus might be the source of the problem.. something every summer gets my dogs skin condition going
I use chlorhexidine in *every* load of laundry as well as to clean bathrooms and mop floors
I need something that would still kill bacteria and germs but was animal-friendly, so I found Cllorhexidine 2% for horses and dogs.
Most people with partial and full dentures do not realize that there is a film that grows on them, a bio mass, that is a perfect medium for harmful germs etcetera.
Add one ounce to a gallon of cleaning solution, you can sanitize floors, counter-tops, and furniture and keep them relative germ free for a few hours. . .
( using no soap). It kills germs and cleans as well
I personally wouldn’t dilute it to below .4 solution for killing germs
So it's useless for the original purpose though probably fine for skin problems and such
but I hear THIS is cheaper alternative and handy to keep around the house to kill bacteria, fungus, heal infections, add to shampoo to keep skin problems healing and from starting..
My doc has been after me to use Hibiclens for a chronic skin problem I've been suffering with
Great to use as a final rinse( diluted down) for dogs with skin problems
Inactive ingredients include fragrance (strong), ethoxylated SURFACANT(!) and nonlyphenol
Although it is half the strength of the later, the active ingredient destroys bacteria on contact - it does not matter whether it is a 2% or 4% concentration
They don't tell you the inactive ingredients which the perfume is horrible even when you diluted
I will now check the inactive ingredient
My vets do not have the inactive ingredients
