maybe a couple 5 secs later it MIGHT raise up to where its tuned, hit the string again and BOOM goes to the left and wont budge, both are the samein teh beginning if I took the rubber off the jaws they worked a but better as far as response and when they do work they are accurate I suppose but getting the meter to move is DIFFICULT and frankly not worth my time, I have a Korg that does the same but not as bad, best one I have to

I got this as an inexpensive replacement was pleasantly surprised at its good quality.
I bought two of these and have found them to be strangely capricious, which is not a good quality in a tuner.

Very user friendly multi- instrument tuner at a decent price
Changing programs (the instruments) is easy and the tuning seems very accurate .Update; Have had it for a couple of months and it has held up better than expected

nice and compact reacts well and accurate when calibrated with the others that are CRAP, no fiddling but these chromacasts are junk bought 2 and wish I didn't they don't work well on the acoustics either if I could do zero

At less than $7, I feel I got a good deal for my money.
A good deal made even better by its competence, and inexpensive enough that I can afford to buy another for my other uke.
Probably one of the best bargain deals I've ever purchased.
