Does a poor job of getting pictures from slides and Negs

I have several boxes of old negatives and so far this has done a great job with them.

Dust and hair (I have a cat and 2 dogs, so there is nowhere in the house that is safe from this) does get inside and onto the backlight panel, but the included brush does a good job at cleaning that off.

I have copied color along with black and white negatives, as well as transparencies and feel this unit does a good job in reproduction the originals to digital.

Otherwise, the Exposure/Color adjustment settings, while not fine enough for perfect color correction, do a good enough job so that post-scanning adjustments with photo editing software, is minimized
