By pairing this with a Pro-Fit vehicle-specific mount, I have a great-looking installation that was very easy to do.
Miscellaneous installation materials: ½” cable clamps, crimp-on ring-terminals, heat-shrink tubing, electrical tape, plastic tie-wraps, auto/marine sealant, use to re-seal penetration through firewall (photo-6),Installation was relatively easy after assembling all the parts and materials
The speaker in the radio does not provide as much clarity as I would like.

Installation is fast and easy - with a couple tools, your antenna mounted, and little skill, you can have this radio up and running in an hour or two
It has one-touch access to the two most popular channels
can scan 2 channels of your choice- Perfect for in-dash automobile
I highly recommend this radio for those looking for a good 40 channel CB with weather band.
This is my favorite CB as I am a professional driver and it has the ability to scan the 40 channels as well as dual watch 2 channels
I like the channel 9-19 quick option, but I doubt if anyone is Monitoring 9 in my area; but I wish that every time I turned the unit on, it wouldn't be on 9
sound tracker works decent as well as the dual watch but the scan feature is sketchy since there is no RF gain control
I partially chose this radio for the PA function as well as the other great features it has, so it was a let down
The soundtracker feature works great in noisy city areas
There are some nice features on this radio including the Cobra Soundtracker feature that removes static (works well), and weather bands, channels 1-40 scan, custom 2 channel scan and more
Often the scan feature gets me in on action I'd have missed otherwise
I do think this unit is superior to Midland's offering.
I have really liked the unit for all the things mentioned by other reviewers, however the coiled cord has deteriorated and has cracked in multiple places.
The first unit was dead on arrival, the second unit seems to be holding up so far, time shall tell.
No bulky unit to try and stuff under today's plastic dashboards.
Had one once before..went to a side band but came back to a more compact unit
Only issue is volume and the screen could be better IMO
The volume is much better than I expected it to be, and the controls are arranged on the mic in a way that is easy to use
I have not as of yet had the top down since installing and cannot speak to the volume levels while in an open air drive but with the top up, the volume is perfectly loud enough for me to be able to hear the conversation loud and clear
However, my one complaint is that the controls are somewhat difficult to adjust, particularly volume and squelch.
I now have some nerve problems in my hand so manipulating the buttons is a bit harder for me now
It has worked flawlessly for me!Although the radio itself is a bit heavy and awkward when you first use it, you will quickly find that the slight inconvenience is quickly forgotten by it's rock solid performance.
It's a bit hard to read what channel you're on when in direct sunlight, but fortunately it's not too bright at night to cause glare
Routing the cable through the rear cargo door is a bit tricky and may be the most time consuming task in the entire project, but be sure to SWR tune your

front-facing speaker-- 1-DIN form-factorThe included microphone is the only weak point; replace it with an Astatic or Road King mic (even a cheap one) of your choosing for an immediate, significant improvement in your outgoing audio quality.
About the only bad points that I can see is that the unit itself is somewhat large and looks awkward on my dash, the speaker does not sound fantastic (but not too bad considering the size
I'm not gonna knock off points, but I wish the power/ground wires were a foot longer and wish the channel up/down buttons were on the opposite side from the PTT button, but for how awesome this rig works, I just can't do it.
None of these small inconveniences cause me to knock off any points from 5 stars - it does what it's supposed to do very well, and the convenient option of single DIN mounting to add function to a clean look is worth it to me
