Reviews around life (5.00 of 5)

  • They are reliable, have exceptional battery life, and have sound quality equal to or better than many cellphones.
  • CXR925 compared to CXR825 :---------------------------- much better battery life, battery capacity almost 2x (could still use a battery
  • These radios use Lithium Ion Technology which is great if designed properly; so I anticipate good battery life between charges
  • but I returned them after a friend showed me his Cobra CXR925 that I proceeded to order on Amazon, why ?- much better battery life, battery capacity almost 2x (could still use a battery meter, right now it only shows when the battery is going
  • Better than most as far as battery life, and the speakers are louder than most

Reviews around line (5.00 of 5)

  • If you know the difference between frs and gmrs, know that using a radio inside a metal box (like a car or Faraday cage) will produce unsatisfactory results, and understand basic fundamental principles of radio (such as line-of-sight and battery power) then you will enjoy this handy, feature rich unit
  • As with most walkie-talkies of this sort, you're only transmitting at .5 watt of power, so there's no way you'll get nearly the distance as printed unless you're elevated (like on a mountain) to avoid the curvature of the earth and a clean line of sight.
  • This device will serve the purpose I bought it for, but only works 0.2 miles apart straight line of distance
  • Using the FRS power level, I could only get rough reception at distances under ~1/4 mi with a clear line-of-sight (e.g. hilltop to base; no obstructions), and even then, I had a lot of trouble understanding the broadcast
  • Distance wise...clear line of sight...starts to get iffy at about a mile

Reviews around price (4.58 of 5)

  • Price ok, easy to use great, reality of distance, poor.
  • I purchased three pairs of this 2 way radio in hopes that it would assist us in staying in communication with each other but at a reasonable price
  • Small size was critical for me b/c I was using it for skiing and my wife has no backpack or pockets large enough for the typical larger powerful radios
  • The 2 way I just received is another great product at a great price
  • They work better than anything we have ever had and the price was unbeatable.

Reviews around reception (3.30 of 5)

  • But the reception is so poor, I must give the product a thumbs down.
  • They have great reach the reception is crystal clear from 1000
  • We've only used them about a half mile or so distance but the reception was crystal clear even through the trees and hills
  • The positives for this product is that of the remaining radios, there is good reception and clarity, and the added "repeat" function is very useful in our environment, due to the external noise factor.
  • works great, but sometimes steals other receptions so we have 2 people talking at once

Reviews around volume issue (1.00 of 5)

  • To date, 15 radios have been returned & replaced, due to volume issues.
  • I can only hope that Cobra will do the same in the future as well.*********I have ordered 32 of these radios for my company's use, there have been 8 of them so far that had to be returned, due to defective volume issues, and 2 of the chargers have also been defective.
  • Within a couple of weeks, my 2 radios (the same ones I sent back) were returned to me and the previous volume issue with both units was completely corrected
  • Upon receiving my replacement set from Amazon (one radio had volume issues
  • If you order these radios in larger quantities be prepared to possibly return a good portion of them for replacement, due to volume issues.
