• Reviews around program (3.87 of 5)

Corel WordPerfect Office X8 Home & Student Edition for PC (Old Version)

    • It's a better program but had worse marketing (just like Beta was better than VHS), so maybe they hired program writers instead of ad execs
    • Great program.
    • It's a fine program, and I hope they continue to make it!
    • Microsoft Office states their program will open Word Perfect - but FYI it doesn't at all.
    • I had all the top programs back in the day
    • This program is compatible with Win 10, 8.1 and 7, in 32 or 64-bits, and allows for conversion between WP and the heavyweights- Word, Excel, PowerPoint, as well as PDFs and 60 other file types, so you can create docs, spreadsheets and even PDFs using WP's streamlined program and save them (or publish) in formats others may be using
    • For me, WordPerfect is just a more user-friendly program and that could be because I'm a bit biased since I used it so many years ago
    • " (I am a teacher), but to me, lawyers whole world revolves around documents, so they would know better than anyone which is the best program for them
    • so I cannot say anything about that version, but this program is totally useless and frustrating to use
    • Therefore I cannot recommend this program if you need to exchange files with Microsoft Office users
    • and I need a good document program, I used to be proficient in WP decades ago at the beginning, not any more, the 'reveal codes' are really helpful, I've sent out documents that appeared great to me, but the prof discounted my grade because the margins were not even, in my chosen profession, this is important
    • When I finally did get to use wordprocessing, Word came free with microsoft stuff, but it sort of reminded me of what is now "notepad" or google docs, and for REAL documents, you bought a good program
    • Needless to say, I deleted the program, swallowed my pride, and purchased another copy of MS Office for the computer.
    • That said, some documents, powerpoints, spreadsheets or pdfs you may have already created in non-WP formats, are not necessarily seamlessly opened and converted directly into WP's programs for editing- there are glitches- some fonts will be substituted, formatting will be slightly off or certain files won't be recognized (as can be expected with any conversion program- or even between different years of MS Word!).Overall, this is a useful program for home and student use, imo, and should be given serious consideration due to the lower cost factor and ease of use
    • Hence my three stars instead of what I would rate as five...stunned that they did this to a perfectly good program.
    • So far the program has worked flawlessly.
    • I have always liked WP over M\S Word; just an easier program to use
    • Even if I have to cut and paste them into some other crappy program.
    • Great program
    • This program lacks some basic functionality; double spacing, a hard to read tool bar and awkward document manipulation
    • I am hoping with the rise of (currently free) google docs, the world will move away from the often-wretchedness of Word, and re-discover the difference between a "usable" program and a wonderful one
    • and I love the program.
    • I love the program because I find it's much more user-friendly than Word, and I love the reveal codes feature.
    • though GoPro is close). If you can use only this program, it is a great program.
    • this program is extreme buggy
    • I love the program
    • The thing I like best about WordPerfect is the reveal codes feature; other programs drive me crazy when I'm trying to change something in the document and I can't because it keeps selecting the wrong areas to apply an attribute.
    • WordPerfectX8 interesting for the attractive new program icons (a blue circle for WP and a green circle for Quattro) and some of the new templates
    • On the other hand, Wordperfect is a stable program
    • This is still the best word processing program by far
    • I am beginning to believe that this program is a waste of time and prefer reverting to my older WordPerfect Office 11, at least that opens every time.
    • A great program to jot down ideas and
    • With programs that nicely (and intuitively) replicate MS Word, Power Point, Excel and Note as well as a new photo management program (Aftershot 2) for which there is no direct MS Office suite counterpart, I am able to accomplish each of my office suite needs very nicely, keeping both the programs and created items in my own computer - where I want to have them! With the purchase of a new 2-in-1 Lenovo laptop recently, I decided that with only $34. to lose, I would finally get around to trying a well-reviewed (but FAR less costly) Word Perfect Office X8 Home & Student suite
    • Fast installation, the program is stable and works as it should, but it convinced me that I don't like WordPerfect.
    • Functional, powerful, capable, at $99 you get a great program at a reasonable price and one that doesn't require an email account to activate and keep active
    • WordPerfect ist still one of the best programs to work with texts.
    • It's a great program and so much easier to use than Microsoft Office
    • I am beginning to believe that this program is a waste of time and prefer reverting to my older WordPerfect Office 11, at least that opens every time.
    • Now since I am used to working with photos and other images in both GIMP (a free program) and Photoshop, Aftershot was not a necessary program for me to use
    • I was excited to see that a (newer, of course), version of WP is on this, as well as it being compatible with many other files that I have been previously unable to open, being the technosaur that I am (such as docx., etc. etc. etc.)
