you will not be disappointed by purchasing this Creative Sound Blaster Roar......
This truly stunned me as it ruined a single operation plug and play USB connection to mimic a similar concept of using a dock for a laptop with quick connect and disconnect
In this case, we're talking about the Creative Sound Blaster Roar
The sound blaster sounds harsh in comparison, with the mid range sounds overpowering other ranges.
Al I can relate is that I have had 3 defective Sound Blaster Roar Pro units.
The price is fantastic and you are getting a great value for what you pay.
At this price, this speaker is your best available option and a great value without sacrificing quality.
It's a no brainer for quality as well as value for the price.
This truly stunned me as it ruined a single operation plug and play USB connection to mimic a similar concept of using a dock for a laptop with quick connect and disconnect
All of that combined with the price equals a GREAT value
Sound QualityLet's begin with the caveat that despite its heft, the Roar is still a small, bluetooth speaker, and as great as the sound quality is, it ultimately won't compare to a true wired component system.
One of the problems with that unit besides its high cost is it sits on the narrow edge making it too easy to tip over if you bump the surface it sits on
I am surprised that it can be as loud and full of bass as it is
You will surely see scratches on the bottom feet if placed on rough surfaces
It is difficult to compare the Sound Blaster Roar to other portable speakers because it is a big step up in audio quality and features from anything I have seen in its price range, making it an excellent choice for daily use as a primary personal speaker, especially where space is limited, as well as for portable use.

The Big Jambox is probably the more fragile of the three if dropped due to its metal screen covering.
Not as refined as the Big Jambox but I can live with it
However, the hiss on the Roar 2 is much, much less audible than say, my Jawbone Big Jambox, which has a (subjectively) very audible noise to me, especially in quiet environments with music at low-volume
The Big Jambox sounds a little brash to me at times where the other two sound crisp and smooth
I've boughten 5 of the media popular brand B/T speakers over the last year and they embarrass the music and frustrate my ears
My ears have been deprived for 43 years of a truly great listening experience
I made the wise decision of testing the volume about 2 feet from my face.. my poor ears

Like I said before it fits my purpose for easy listening as well as for a small indoor and outdoor party.
The ROAR button is great for big rooms or noisy environments and really boosts the sound volume as well as the sound quality
The Roar is a very nice B/T speaker with lots of features
Some may be frivolous but he majority are useful t and work quite well
However, the hiss on the Roar 2 is much, much less audible than say, my Jawbone Big Jambox, which has a (subjectively) very audible noise to me, especially in quiet environments with music at low-volume
but I do use the "Roar" button in such a noisy environment
Most Bluetooth AD2P compresses audio from the source and decompresses it at the sink (Speaker or BT Headset), so you lose audio quality from normal Bluetooth, as well as gain background noise

No annoying sound or light notifications - just an on and off noise, a chirp to let you know you are connected to a device, a tiny power on light, and 3 tiny lights that indicate battery levels
The Sound Blaster Roar SR20A has got to be one of Creative’s stellar flagship devices at this time
However, since I acquired the second Roar, I noticed my first Roar make a funny chirping noise sometimes when I restart the computer where the second Roar was connected to.
Definitely a bit louder than the Bose, and the sound is a lot clearer and bassy than the Bose can get at max level; the great deep Bose sound degrades at high-max volumes
I must admit I was a bit skeptical about it when I laid my hands on it
Once I ordered it, i will admit I was a bit skeptical because the reviews were so positive, but I am happy to say that it is by far the best portable speaker we have come across.
Fantastic!I was *this close* to ordering another compact speaker (rhymes with rose) when I happened upon a review for this little beast
The highs distort a bit on the Jambox at higher volumes but are smooth on the other two

The wrap around metal grill and metal grills over the passive bass radiators on the sides of the speaker give this a very sophisticated look

Specially, I like 2 passive radiators located at sides
it's louder plugged in but is just not as loud when in the mobile mode.
The Roar function is best used when the speaker is plugged in to AC power with the power adapter as it takes advantage of having the extra power available when plugged in
This truly stunned me as it ruined a single operation plug and play USB connection to mimic a similar concept of using a dock for a laptop with quick connect and disconnect
It is absolutely AMAZING plugged into the computer, unbelievable for this price of speaker.
I also have a carbon audio pocket speaker, a big jambox, & a g-project g-boom, even though I have a variety to choose from depending on my mood, & where I'll be listening to my music, my soundblaster roar has proven its worth among my speakers
It was totally unusable for video because of very very bad audio/video sync problems.
as frustrating as the negatives are, the sound is so good for classical music that I chose to put up the dumb problems (and they are really dumb!
As a hip hop fan, the one problem I always had was the bass blowing out my other speakers
The Roar is a very nice B/T speaker with lots of features
The only problem we noticed with Bose speaker is that it lacked other options besides bluetooth (which was a bit flakey to begin with) and very heavy on the bass with no option to adjust it
Just got this bad boy today, the build and sound from this little thing is amazing
This is my review of the Creative Roar Pro after listening to these bad boys for about a week__________DESIGN: The design of the Pro is actually very reminiscent to the Roar 1 and 2
The Roar is a very nice B/T speaker with lots of features
All of the Classic Sound Blaster Roar’s killer audio signature in an even more compact size
Pushing the boundaries of speaker miniaturization even further, the Sound Blaster Roar 2 is 20%* more compact than the Classic Sound Blaster Roar, while still retaining its critically acclaimed killer audio signature; which has garnered a deluge of rave reviews all over the world
The Sound Blaster Roar 2 -- although smaller, lighter, and sexier -- is meticulously designed with the same electrical design, the same 5 high-performance speaker drivers, and the same battery capacity as the Classic Sound Blaster Roar
So what you get is the same mind-shattering room-filling audio and astounding battery life -- but now with a smaller, lighter and sexier form factor
