• Reviews around bow (3.15 of 5)

Cremona SV-130 Premier Novice Violin Outfit - Sparkling Blue - 4/4 Size

    • I give it 4 stars because the first violin arrived with a bad bow and a bad G string.
    • The bridge was wrapped very carefully and we also noticed that the case provides a spot for the bow to be secured, which is wonderful
    • The case is very nice, but when opened, it reveals a magnificent violin and bow; outstanding workmanship, not only on the instrument, but the inside of the case, as well
    • The bow has help up great as well
    • The bow is/was falling apart and the hair is entirely too loose to actually use it to play
    • The bow was not the best, but that is an easy fix.
    • The bow also came in very mishandled with quite a few horse hairs undone
    • It has a good quality bow for a student violin and it does come with rosin, which is OK in quality, but I did end up purchasing rosin on the advice of other reviewers because why not, I have $2 to spare
    • I am no violin expert but based on reading other negative reviews and having musical knowledge as a professional flutist, a few observations: The bow has been fine
    • There is a decent quality bow, a nice case, and a decent instrument, all cheaper than renting for a year
    • The only thing about it we didn't like was the bow was broken and his teacher said poorly made.
    • In all honesty fiberglass bows are better for kids.
    • The bow's silver thing that connects with the frog isn't glued tight, and when my son was playing, the bow started to crack in the middle
    • Good wood, good overall construction and components, sounds nice, nice case, decent bow, professionally set up prior to shipping (again, this doesn't mean it is ready to play out of the box, as the bridge is packed and it has to be tuned).CONS: The finish probably isn't the greatest
    • Hopefully, we just got a bad bow and the other Cremona sets do not have this issue
    • It's not a bad bow by any means, just don't expect a real fancy one
    • The Bow and case are also very nice and it also comes with a block of resin for the bow.
    • The case is pretty good, the bow is quite usable, with good balance and an good feel
    • Violin itself is good, but not the bow and strings
    • This bow is usable and the tension adjustment is fine, but again this is a student violin, so don't compare it to a high priced product.
