• Reviews around string (2.04 of 5)

Crescent 4/4 Pink Maple Wood Acoustic Violin with Case, Rosin, and Bow

    • The strings broke almost immediately and the bow had a bunch of threads hanging
    • It's beautiful, but the pegs don't stay put and the strings get loose very easily.
    • I thought the strings just needed to be broken in like some of the reviews said but after 2 weeks we just cant get it to sound right
    • The D string is the worst
    • The bow came heavily fringed but, if the strings were better, it would be usable
    • I ended up having to take it into a shop to get it re-stringed because the strings were bad
    • The pegs slip, it might as well not have fine tuners on it, and the strings are crap
    • The second G string broke
    • The strings won't stay tight and the chin rest fell apart after the 3rd use
    • The winders keep unwinding after strings are tensioned.
    • We even took it to a violin specialist and put new expensive strings on it
    • Comes with a cute little tuner, extra strings, and rosin
    • The string broke the first day I used it
    • This product was a complete waste ofMoney , the bow was falling apart , the strings were not able to be tightened , it didn’t even make a noise
    • Oh the strings, they were horrible and snapped at the drop of a hat
    • The strings on the violin were just fine though.
    • Violin showed up scratched and scuffed everywhere....had the music teacher try to get it all in the rights keys and the strings just keep breaking...so impossible to get tuned to even try to learn
    • The current strings will make noise but they aren't the best strings
    • (2) Better strings.
    • Contrary to most of these reviews, the violin holds a tune quite well, you just have to tune it properly (i.e. push the pegs in as you twist them to create more resistance)This thing came with an extra set of strings in addition to the ones on the instrument, and they even threw in an additional high string in case one breaks in tuning, make sure and sand off the top layer of rosin before you use
    • Extra strings were amazing
    • When you try to turn the cheap not-even-sure-it's-wood pegs they fly back around, therefore leaving loose strings and the bridge fallen down
    • the top string's peg is a bit loose but its not bad, just needs a bit of constant tuning every time you play :-)
    • Then put the bridge on its side under the strings so that when you stand it up the tallest part is on the fattest string
    • There were a few minor errors in coloing like awkward hues and a missing string, that had us baffeled a bit
    • And when I just slightly tune in E String, the string broke.
    • I don't like the strings that it came with, and the "G" string snapped after I tried to play it
    • The strings are alright as well and you might want to get a better strings if you are serious with getting better with playing the violin like the rosin
    • The string posts won't stay in so it won't stay tuned, the bridge broke in half as soon as I put the strings on it, and the bow falls apart after just minutes of playing it
    • Not even a "good" toy strings will not stay tightened/in place..returned
    • the top string's peg is a bit loose but its not bad, just needs a bit of constant tuning every time you play :-)
    • This was a shock for me because I wasn't expecting decent strings, and I purchased the D'Addario Prelude strings and after trying both the stock strings and the D'Addario, I was surprise that there wasn't enough difference to say one was better than the other
    • the string was broke on it not happy
    • So in the end I it ended up receiving, new strings (A higher quality of strings did wonders for it alone), a new bridge, rosin, and bow
    • The current strings will make noise but they aren't the best strings
    • I'm a strings teacher who works with violins for a living
    • The string holders in the tailpiece weren't even wide enough to accept decent strings!
    • The strings on the violin are amazing
    • I guess they expect you'll always use inferior strings on this thing!
    • I suggest buying a set of good quality strings like Dominant brand violin strings
    • I had gotten this violin to test out, to see if I liked violin, and had expensive strings on there
    • Bent strings and not useable upon delivery.
    • Upon opening the first violin I immediately notices runs in the paint job, looked like spray paint, broken strings on both the violin and bow
    • The strings snap easy, very very easy
    • All the string were loose and sounded aweful
    • but... it never came with the tuner it promised and the strings get loose real easily
    • Great but poor quality strings
    • The strings are poor quality; G and D strings are decent but A and E strings will have to be replaced and they are very easy to snap.
    • super cheap broke when strung
    • super cheap broke when strung
    • The bow is missing as well as the extra strings
    • Violin is a high maintenance instrument, if the horse hair isn't tightened right, if not rosined enough ,if strings are loose, if not played right it tends to make scratchy sound.these are not the problem of price tag.
    • I also replaced the strings with better ones, and, which I do not recommend, I moved the sound post as it was misaligned with the bridge
    • This is what I did, maybe it will work for you maybe it won't: get new strings
    • I love strings and the violin is at the top of that list, even above my beloved bass
    • Broke string setting it up, but had ordered extra
    • I did break my G-string while tuning it, because I'm a bit ham-handed, but the replacement string that came with the kit worked just fine
    • The strings (once in tune) are adequate
    • The strings are broken, the screws are missing, this thing called a piece unfinished toy, not an instrument
    • and I even had the music store tune it after I broke the first string and he snapped 2 more while I was standing there
    • Had to use rosin on it for 20 minutes to get it to even vibrate the strings at all, another 10 to get a decent sound
    • Because you can break a string easily
    • The strings and pegs aren't good and even the rosin is cracked
    • String was broken when I got it
    • String 1 [being G] was broken at the top close to the peg-- and couldn't be correctly tuned.5.
    • The neck feels good enuff and the strings it comes with are decent as well
    • agreeablely so, the strings are undeniable CHEAP and broke on me the first night during tuning, the Rosin came in pieces and the screws on the tailpiece were jammed
    • The bow is missing as well as the extra strings
    • super cheap broke when strung
    • Paint job is horrible on the one I
    • The second G string broke
    • The strings are poor quality; G and D strings are decent but A and E strings will have to be replaced and they are very easy to snap.
