In fact, I find that to be a GOOD feature; it makes it easier to clean and the lid doesn't get in the way when I'm either filling the pot or pouring it into the coffee maker

Lots of nice features in addition to the standard program start, BOLD for a bit stronger pot, carafe warmer temp and scheduled auto turn off.

Makes a great tasting hot cup of coffee with nice features and looks great on my counter
