Not sure how it would work for a group but for 2 it's just the right size.

it melts cheese, and is a great portion size, but it did constantly burn the cheese whenever the heat turned on

The size of the pot is great for our family of 3 and we could have easily added 2 more to the meal

Other than that it is a very nice fondue set and works really well.

The temperature settings are great for heating up quickly, maintaining heat, and not burning the food

It has poor temperature control and we found our chocolate was either curdling and burning or chunky with a chalky consistency

Fun to have, but the temperature is difficult to control.

We have only used it once for chocolate fondue but it kept the chocolate at just the right temperature.

Word of caution: Too much cheese is a bad thing

Still learning how to use it - not very happy with the non-stick interior of it, but that is the only thing right now that I didn't like about it.

The one thing I would have liked would be to have the pot separate from the heating element so that you could submerge it in the sink.

You have to clean the whole thing to transition from cheese to chocolate fondue, so if you were planning on recreating "The Melting Pot" restaurant (which is what me and the kids were planning to do) that isn't as easy as you might imagine it would be

I will never use a fuel fondue again as they don't hold heat needed for tempura or broth fondues and will burn cheese and chocolate fondues

If you're going to use this device mainly for cheese fondues then beware that it will get too hot and burn the cheese onto the bottom of the pot

However, in keeping cheese hot for fondue, it is lacking.

This is a major problem because when the pot is heating, it's just too hot and burns the cheese onto the surface of the pot

The only complaint I have that takes it from a 5 to 4 star is that the cord is very short which limits where you can use it.

Works great, hot snacks outside in cold weather, with a proper heavy duty extension cord.

like is the cord is really short-hard to put in the center of the table without a big, long extension cord.

The heat control is precise, there is a magnetic break-away cord so that it doesn't get pulled off the table, and most importantly it can be thrown into the dishwasher after use

Getting a broth to gently simmer is impossible: it cycles between a violent rolling boil and no boil at all
