The lid was getting more and more difficult to open and now won't open at all.

First one the lid broke & Cusinart was prompt to replace with a new one with me having to pay for shipping, had to return the old one though

While it still works and functions properly the lid is so small that i cannot get my hands inside it to properly scrub it, the water regularly gets infected

The letters on buttons start worn out after one year, then the open lid was jammed less than three years.

We were able to live with sticking lid for some time but today the lid just fell apart and dissent open anymore

Maybe if they used some better thermally stable plastic for the lid (such as polycarbonate) then the lid would work as designed

so OK.Fast forward a couple of months, the replacement has a limp lid that no longer opens when we push the button.

As far as downfalls, the lid is not removable and therefore you can not let air dry upside down.
