Cuisinart DCC-1150BK 10-Cup Classic Thermal Programmable Coffeemaker, Black

    • I cleaned and cleaned and then cleaned the lid.
    • the wider lid on the pot makes cleaning much nicer and the drip catcher on the back prevents the water that accumulates on the lid during brewing from running down the back.
    • It is a big bulky machine you have to slide out and raise the huge cumbersome lid to put water in
    • You have to pry the lid off to clean and forget about pouring without spilling
    • Also it spills everywhere and the lid is clumsy
    • After using this for a few months (and cleaning it regularly), I discovered the lid had mold in it... there is no way to clean the lid, none.
    • The lid is hard to take off and it leaks when pouring the water in
    • I've found that the lid to the carafe is almost impossible to put back on after removal - it has to fit back in some slots (invisible to me) exactly, then twisted, and I find myself fighting with it.
    • The lid on the pot requires teeny-tiny fingers to pry free from the pot itself, and the lid on the coffee maker doesn't open far enough and the opening in the top is too small to fill through.
    • Brewing is fine the craft leaks constantly soaked lid in water and vinegar helps a bit must pour over sink or have towel ready
    • After three months the lid to coffee pot fails, and pours coffee all over your counter when brewing
    • Occasionally I soak the lid and carafe in a commercial coffee pot cleaner, but recently I read another reviewer's brilliant suggestion to use Oxy-Clean -- better results than with the commercial coffee-pot cleaners.
    • The "lid / pour" horrible
    • Only complaint might be that the lid doesn’t go into easily and if you don’t put it on perfectly it leaks
    • As others have advised, rinse the lid thoroughly and shake it to drain out the water to maintain the coffee drip flow.
    • Pouring coffee is problematic though, the pot has to be turned upside down to get any coffee to come out, and the lid cannot be cleaned because it doesn't come apart
    • If you need to irrigate your countertop with morning joe then this is the coffee maker for you!The lid secures fine to the carafe
    • We finally started removing the lid to pour but then the coffee cools down too fast and defeats the purpose of having a carafe
    • It would be nicer if the lid folded up instead of being pried off the carafe
    • The timer is simple to program, and the carafe keeps the coffee hot, and it pours without the need to twist a lid
    • I recommend using something besides the glass carafe it comes with for filling the water reservoir, as the lid of the carafe isn't hinged and doesn't come off and go on very easily, making it a little tedious to fill
    • All because the lid just plain sucks
    • Fix this terrible lid, and I'll give it 5 stars and recommend it to others
    • The lid has this raised bump in the middle so that when its brewing, it lifts the stopper and allows coffee into the carafe
    • The carafe lid is difficult to open and close and if you don't do it right, it will cause coffee spills while brewing or pouring-and the worse part-you won't know until its already spilling
    • the lid is tricky, slow to pour
    • I've tried to clean lid off
    • The terrible lid ruins all others aspects of the coffee maker
    • deep clean the carafe itself, take off the lid
    • The lid leaks when pouring
    • they have improved the spout and lid since the last one, the only thing i dislike is the cord is still to short.
    • I only used it about four times when the lid to the water well decided it wouldn't close completely, or fit, either!
    • Great coffee but the lid is not very user friendly
    • The lid on the pot is weird too.
    • Many other reviews have stated how Cuisinart customer service does nothing other than say "clean the lid"
    • I have never had to do this because I clean the lid daily.7
    • After following another reviewer's suggestion, I cleaned the lid carefully to include extra flushing of all the crevices in the top portion
    • It is awkward pouring the water into the reservoir, and the carafe lid is not very easy to remove sometimes
    • Another pain was the lid is ridiculously stupid to try to grip and turn
    • You have to pry the lid off to clean and forget about pouring without spilling
    • It's happening more and more often, I cannot clean the lid, it's been less than a year, so I am now getting a different coffee maker
    • The only problem I have with it is the lid on the carafe, it does not attach to the carafe, but I am learning to work with it
    • The lid is so difficult to get off.
    • Where you pour is right next to where the top lid is attached
    • The lid on the thermal carafe is identical to my old unit - it's important to rinse the LID out thoroughly to clear any residue that may have slipped through the filter - particularly important if you grind your own coffee or use the (included) gold-tone "forever" filter.
    • Cannot get the lid off, can't clean the carafe, and now I can't even return it.
    • Again, great coffee pot, poor design either with the burner, making coffee hot, or the canister lid keeping it hot.
    • But cleaning the lid and the cover of coffee residue and oils needs to be done after every use, and no brush or sponge can clean it.
    • The top lid won't go back far enough to allow emptying the pot.
    • The lid also is stained after each use.
    • The lid and spout are practically drip free, but some sneaks out at times
    • My husband complains that the lid leaks coffee when pouring
    • Before I started to brew, I filled the carafe with super hot water, closed the lid and let it sit for 2 minutes, dumped the water out (and such a waste of water, btw) so that it would warm the "thermal" carafe.
    • The best advice I can give on that is to keep the lid clean by running it through the dishwasher when it seems to be sticking
    • The third problem is the lid that sits on the top of the carafe.
    • If it requires the lid in place to work, then it should not only beep to alert of the problem, but do NOT continue releasing water to make the huge mess; should turn itself off.
    • Minor differences; no water gauge on the machine, slow brew speed, cumbersome lids
    • The lid and spout are practically drip free, but some sneaks out at times
    • The lid is difficult to remove as well as to replace it on the carafe
    • The lid is awkward to remove, and it's not an easy pour
    • I found the lid on the carafe to be very difficult to remove for daily cleaning and washing out
    • The lid leaks constantly.
    • You can be sure of this by looking at the top lid of the actual coffeemaker
    • But, as another reviewer said, the lid is really hard to use on the Cuisinart
    • Needs better lid design, looks messy..see photo
    • l love it.
    • I like my coffee piping hot, this does not cut it.
    • , you know?In addition to the vicious magic trick, the d**n carafe leaks if you lean it against anything while pouring
