To call the pot a "thermal" pot is not accurate, as it is actually a double-walled stainless steel pot, it is not actually insulated and the metel transfers the heat from the coffee

The features I like best are: 1) the 1-4 cup option which heats the pot more so as not to cool the small amount of coffee in the large pot, 2) the water filter, 3) the simple beep it makes when the coffee in brewed, 4) the option of using the metal or paper filters and, best of all, 4) the timer you can set to tun off the power to the heat plate at a specific time of your choice after the brewing is complete.

I can expect cheapness in a cheap pot but I expect more from an expensive coffee pot like cuisinart.

The pot acts like a thermos and stays hot for about 2 hrs.

The pot leaks like crazy when you pour a cup of coffee from it, making mess all over counter top

The only objection that I have with this unit is that the lid of the carafe has to be snapped off each time you us it whether you want to get water to fill the receptacle or to just clean the pot or to just let the pot dry out.

Combined with the fact that we grind our beans (Costco Colombian Supremo), brews and keeps warm a good pot of coffee.
