However the carafe was problematic for me: messy inconsistent pour, coffee not hot enough/long enough, you can't see what's left in the pot and the brew completion audible beeps that seem to annoy many others who reviewed it didn't even work for me

Not 5 stars because pouring in the water is difficult and the totally disconnected top to the pot is a hassle.

I read all the reviews about lukewarm coffee and finicky pouring, and here's what I found after my first brew.

Only negative is it is a little awkward pouring the water in and if you are brewing less than a full pot, it's a little difficult to know how much water to fill the carafe as it does not have measurement lines on the carafe itself.
