but the grinder design is flawed in that (1) you have to dry out grinder and put it in just prior to brewing due to condensation build up in the machine, and (2) you can't get a strong brew using grinder unless you do 1-5 cup batches using 1-4 cup hotter setting...

The lid on the coffee filter basket, if not put on, results in water not going over the grounds in the right manner and a very weak cup of coffee (plus some dry grounds in the filter basket)
