    • Pros:Makes a great cup of coffee, grinds and brews freshly ground beans instantly; filters water; heats quick; thermos keeps coffee hotCons:Takes some setting up (many parts); is a huge PAIN to clean and must be cleaned with EVERY use - the grinder, the grinder shoot, the basket (two parts) takes about twenty minutes to get into all of the little nooks and remove the finely ground beans
    • I would recommend to wash it after each grind as the directions suggest - otherwise it can get gunned with bean residue.
    • Using fresh ground coffee is the secret to good coffee, almost no matter which brand of beans you use.
    • I bought this coffeemaker so I could have an option for fresh, ground coffee, but I can't use the grinder.
    • and I would - more likely than not - be stuck with a third coffeemaker that doesn't work, a hand weight on my kitchen counter, and no fresh, ground coffee.

    • The grinds are perfect and very easy to clean, most importantly the coffee is perfect.
    • How much would you pay to wake up in the morning, touch a single button, and have delicious coffee made from fresh-ground beans
    • You'll wake up to the smell of fresh ground coffee.
    • I was advised to use a coarser ground (which of course yields a weaker cup of coffee) and that did not help.
    • Researching in prior to buying I found that a perfect grind and brew was not available
    • I was resigned to having more parts to clean in exchange for the convenience and taste of fresh-ground beans, but I found that the grinder elements just don't work in the dishwasher
    • Wake to fresh ground coffee
    • Replaced an old grind and brew with this, so totally satisfied
    • There's an art to this system because the coarseness of the grind must be just right; and I often used too fine a grind, producing a bitter brew
    • [2]The container easily gets dirty and coffee grind gets chunky after brewing coffee
    • The fresh ground coffee makes the house smell even more amazing in the morning.
    • It give a medium grind, not coarse, not fine.
    • I like mine a little finer and this model provides a medium grind - not bad, but not ideal for me.

    • I love my fresh ground brewed coffee
    • Bottom line is if you want a reasonably convenient, fresh ground, cup of coffee that will never taste burnt and you are willng to invest 5 minutes in cleanup after each use, the Cuisinart Grind & Brew Thermal is in my opinion as good as it gets at a reasonable price point

    • I am accustomed to a finer grind
    • Love my Grind and Brew..., is the only true way to have a fantastic cup of morning java
    • Really appreciate the ability of prepping the coffee at night and then having a fresh ground grind and brewed cup in the morning
    • Very nice machine, nothing like fresh ground coffee in the morning.
    • -You cannot select coarser or finer grind
    • Weekends always finds me serving several drop-in guests wanting a cup of fresh ground and the looks on their faces at first sip makes it all worthwhile
    • It does a nice fine grind and you can make anything from a couple to a dozen of "cups" (the definition of a cup seems slightly skimpy) at a time.
    • The ground beans stick to the top of the container, to the bottom of the container, in the chute, and clog the little holes where the ground beans are supposed to enter the chute and fall into the basket
    • Maybe a finer grind will conserve beans and allow stronger coffee for larger batches
    • The brew is good and the carafe's heat preservation rocks, but my biggest complaint is how loud the grind and transfer is
    • I love that I can set it to wake up to fresh ground
    • We don't use the grind the beans feature much but the regular coffee feature works great for us.
    • If you are buying this it is because you are a coffee enthusiast, you like fresh ground coffee, and most likely a nice robust cup

    • It delivers a fresh ground brew every morning and holds its heat without burning the coffee for a good 4 hours minimum.
    • I love using freshly ground coffee grinds
    • The only thing negative about it is that it is noisy when grinding the beans, but I guess that is to be expected
    • I love the grind and brew coffee maker but was very disappointed with the last one I just purchased.
    • If you love coffee then fresh ground is the way to go!
    • too badI loved the flavor of the freshly ground coffee and that's why I kept purchasing it, I now ONLY use this when I purchase Kona coffee from Hawaii..and want fresh ground
    • Should you skip the washing out/drying step, the wet grinds harden and clog the system
    • This is clearly a big problem if you're looking for well-ground coffee
    • Taking the full price into consideration, I'd recommend spending half on a burr grinder and half on a separate thermal carafe coffee maker (unless you absolutely have to have fresh-ground coffee ready when you wake up)
    • love having fresh ground coffee every morning
    • This is quite an upgrade form our old Mr. Coffee brewer - the fresh ground beans make a HUGE difference
    • have wonderful fresh ground coffee every morning.
    • Love this Grind & Brew model!
    • The grinder is inside the water tank, so it easily builds steam during the brewing process that forces you to clean the wet grinds out of it, even if it is the next morning.

    • We love the machine grinding and brewing the coffee in one appliance.
    • This is my favorite grind and brew machine -- and there aren't many left on the market.
    • You cannot remove the grind cup or an alarm will sound and it will not work, even with grind set to off
    • Great coffee maker, perfect for fresh ground coffee
    • What it does do is to reliably produce a VERY good cup of fresh ground, fresh brewed coffee at a time of your choosing and keep the coffee relatively hot for a few hours without burning it
    • This is a great Coffee pot if you like "fresh ground coffee".
    • This unit has corrected several minor annoyances in the older model, in particular, a paper filter is well protected from folding over and leaking coffee grinds
    • There's nothing better than having fresh ground coffee brewed in this Cusinart pot.
    • We enjoy our coffee ground fresh from the beans right before brewing and this is the easiest way to do it.
    • But I'm old school and love a good freshly ground whole bean brewer and this has been it
    • After the brewing process, all the stream rises up into the grinder compartment and makes a sludge out of any grinds or fine grind powder that wasnt vacuum sucked into the basket.

    • I love fresh ground, fresh brewed coffee first thing in the morning
    • It's a littleloud while grinding (which is a very short period of time) but so worth it!

    • Too bad as we were looking forward to the fresh ground flavor.
    • The grinding is much quieter than any other we have had.
    • Makes great fresh ground coffee
    • I love this grind and brew and my last 2 were broken because I dropped them.
    • It works well for all intents and purposes, but it is wicked loud in the morning, and the grind is irregular, making for a mediocre pot of coffee
    • so I could have fresh-ground coffee each day, and wanted to stick with Cuisinart since I had good luck with my first one
    • can use paper filters- doesn't drip when you pour- seems to be stronger coffee for same amount of beansHowever, it has these cons:- very hard to clean (6 parts, some with odd shapes)- if you don't dry it 100%, then ground coffee balls up in the grinding chamber- even dry, the steam from brewing enters the grinding chamber and any powered coffee globs up- grinding chamber not big enough for me if I want a full pot of strong coffee- no control on how fine coffee is ground (although the grounds seem to be sufficient)Grind and brew units are hard to find, so I have stuck with this one, but if you don't mind grinding your coffee separately, you might want to pass on this.
    • I'll never go back to non-fresh ground coffee!
    • This takes up about the same space as a regular coffee maker, but it's great to have fresh ground/brewed coffee.

    • Had an awesome Cuisinart grind and brew prior to this one that lasted 4 years.
    • Having fresh ground beans makes a huge difference in flavor.
    • I did not realize is that this machine is incredibly loud when grinding beans.
    • It's probably the lack of steamed hot water passing over the grinds
    • set it up the night before, push the button and it smells so wonderful, fresh ground beans, best coffee.
    • This is an excellent grind and brew coffee maker and brews terrific coffee, keeping it warm for about 3 hours
    • Makes strong, fresh ground coffee, on demand or by timer
    • Cons - the filter housing has started regularly overflowing, dumping grinds and water all over the carafe and hot plate like a mud slide
    • It is loud when grinding but the coffee is fabulous
    • But by far the most egregious aspect is the noise: this puppy sounds like a fighter jet when grinding
    • Love this grind and brew coffee maker.
    • I love the Cuisinart Grind and Brews.
    • Love the auto grind and brew feature
    • The perfect grind and brew appliance

    • Works great, I love fresh ground coffee.
    • I have always liked the grind and brew machines though, so when my last simple machine started showing signs of a sure to come death, I ordered this one
    • However, when a full pot of fresh-ground coffee is in order (for dinner guests), then this machine is a boon.
    • Overall, I think this is a great coffee machine because we like our coffee freshly ground, love the automatic timer so we can set it before we go to bed, and love the thermal carafe.
    • Don't use fine ground coffee in the included filter, it will flood and make a mess
    • Initially I loved the grind and brew feature, but after a period of time, I had to get a pair of pliers to wrestle the grinding basket out for cleaning.
    • But we've had floods even with coarse ground
    • The float is captive within the lid, there is no way to remove it or even clean it of coffee residue (also gross).I am guessing that using a paper filter instead of the included wire one or using a more coarsely ground coffee would minimize the sticking, but it's too late for me try that
    • the grind is much too fine (and not adjustable) so the coffee has very little flavor.
    • I do like the grind and brew
    • The taste of fresh ground coffee is exactly what you want to have after you wake up
    • so you can't brew any fresher ground coffee than this
    • We bought it because I like freshly ground
