Cuisinart DGB-700BC Grind & Brew 12 Cup Coffeemaker (Black/Brushed Chrome)

    • Update: Not too long after writing the review my coffeemaker started smelling very hot and quit making coffee (the grinder continued to work)
    • One word of caution; the grinder is loud
    • The grinder is clogged constantly lately
    • Product worked great for about three weeks and the automatic grinder stopped working.
    • all features work as stated, reusable filter is eco-friendly, auto shut-offCons: Takes more cleaning than traditional setups (but really 3 minutes is manageable...first world problems), LOUD grinder, after 2 hours you can't easily keep the coffee hot as hitting the power would grind more coffee (this would require turning the grind off...a whole other button!), won't fit under traditional cabinets and allow water to be poured in, water level only visible on right side of machineOverall, we love our grind-and-brew
    • The grinder quit working after 3 months
    • The grinder is fairly loud.
    • We have had this product for exactly 3 months and religiously cleaned out grinder, washed parts and took good care of this unit
    • Purchased as a gift, brews good coffee, did not use the grinder yet, do not like the pot as it is hard to empty.
    • The grinder requires a good cleaning about every 10 days or else it will jam and the hopper needs refilling once a day, but again this is brewing 20 cups a day, so that was to be expected.
    • After 3 years, the grinder has quit working
    • The grinder is loud but not louder than the stand alone grinder I have been using
    • But after using it once a day for 3 months the grinder stopped working.
    • It worked ok for the first 10 months but the grinder stopped working and now it is useless as a grind and brew coffee maker.
    • The grinder stopped working on our first one at 3 months and 1 day.
    • Grinder works fine.
    • the grinder is a little loud but what ones aren't
    • The grinder worked great with hardly any clogs
    • With that model, you have to clean out the grinder after every single use and ensure it is completely dry before loading it again.
    • Love the large, air-tight hopper to hold whole beans, love the grinder, love the taste of the coffee
    • The grinder smells like it is burning
    • not as noisy as my small hand grinder) it really works great and has fresh ground coffee for me every morning!
    • What grinder is quiet
    • This new grinder has been a real disappointment as we need to disassemble the coffee hopper and clean the passageway between the grinder and the filter/grounds holder at least every other night, totally negating the added convenience.
    • The grinder is a little bit loud; I can't hear it upstairs, but it definitely alerts my backyard bluejays that it's time to come and get their morning cashew.
    • Very good grinder and brewer
    • The grind is a tiny loud, but I suppose a quieter grinder would be much more expensive?!
    • Love the burr grinder and so much easier to clean than the regular Grind-n-Brew grinder
    • Also the grinder is not as easy to clean as you are made to believe, if using a very moist coffee bean the grinds would end up caked in the grinding shoot and a brush would not get them out
    • I have been using my portable grinder to grind beans & making coffee that way until coffee maker completely quits; which probably won't be long.
    • The grinder is very loud but only last for 20-30 seconds
    • I am using this unit after having used a french press and a slow rpm burr grinder for several years.
    • I am convinced that the people that wrote 1 star reviews did not clean the grinder.
    • The grinder makes some noise but is easily tolerable and is way less than my old machine.
    • When I do that I use a hand vacuum (with an attachment I made) to clean the grinder because I want to give this machine as much of a chance to last a long time as I can
    • The grinder is loud, I guess - it is a grinder
    • Yes, the grinder is loud, but it doesn't bother my family
    • Was great for the first month then the grinder stopped working
    • YOU MUST CLEAN OUT THE GRINDER TO THE
    • There's no way to adjust the coarseness of the grind, and for some reason the grinder sounds more like a blade grinder than a burr grinder
    • We accidentally broke the bean grinder so purchased another
    • I Have only had this coffee Maker for two months before the grinder stopped working.
    • The grinder is two to three times louder than the Capresso and has a pitch similar to a blender - VERY
    • Yes, the grinder is loud, but it doesn't bother my family
    • Yes it’s loud when it grinds the beans, but I’ve never heard a quiet bean grinder
    • Not a great grinder, maybe I've expected more from under 200$ coffee maker
    • It is fairly easy to clean the grinder chute, but I cannot see a way to clean the actual grinder on this machine.
    • When you take the hopper off to clean the grinder or to change the kind of coffee (decaf or reg) there will be some beans left in the chute but that doesn't hamper taking off or putting the hopper back on
    • The grinder grinds the beans, but the heater is not functioning
    • the grinder still works but the 'heating element' must have gone out
    • we cleaned it regularly and the grinder needs cleaning after only two pots of coffee, do not wait like the manufacturer recommends.
    • Of course mechanical grinders are loud, but hearing it outside the house seems a bit much.
    • Make sure you clean the grinder once a week.
    • This is a winner becaue of the superior burr grinder.
    • The grinder stopped working after about 1 year and instead of checking with me they pitched it and bought their own and quit buying coffee from me
    • The grinder is good but even with 'strong' coffee, it looks like I am making tea with my coffee
    • I have been using my portable grinder to grind beans & making coffee that way until coffee maker completely quits; which probably won't be long.
    • The grinder stopped working.
    • Best grinder, brewer automated coffee on the market.
    • The grinder definitely makes noise and it's bothersome to clean the
    • The grind is a tiny loud, but I suppose a quieter grinder would be much more expensive?!
    • The grinder still works, but that’s all
    • Not sure if this is something I want to hassle with, and a basic grinder would be better with a regular coffee maker.
    • This (second) one has a much quieter grinder than the first one and we're enjoying it.
    • The grinder stopped working on this product within the warranty period.
    • This is the best coffee maker I've ever owned....after a year, this morning, the grinder stopped working.

    • Then, the grinder would not grind
    • The grinder did well for awhile and then started having problems.
    • and the grinder gets stuck on clean grinder even after it has been thoroughly cleaned for a few days.
    • The built-in burr grinder doesn't make that much noise - much quieter than the stand-alone grinder I had.
    • It makes no more noise than our old Krups bean grinder that we've had for years, and the grinder is efficient enough that the time it takes to grind the beans is much less.
    • Larger shoot for the ground coffee makes cleaning easier, the grinder is much quieter than the previous version, and the lid for the hopper has been extended to prevent water to be dribbled into the bur grinder while filling with water
    • Grinder wouldn't work
    • I change coffee beans on occasion and have found the grinder not too difficult to clean
    • The grinder will wake the dead :-)
    • I ordered this in May of this year (2011) and the Grinder stopped working
    • It's very simple to use, pretty straightforward to clean, and the grinder really isn't very loud (probably not enough to wake someone
    • The burr grinder is light-years ahead of the cheap blade grinders in other units; yet, inferior to a real pro burr grinder like my la Pavoni.
    • The grinder on the new machine clogs very frequently - I now clean it once a day and if I made more pots of coffee I would need to clean it more often
    • Bean grinder very noisy but still love this machine.
    • I genuinely feel that the grinder grinds significantly more than it should based on the settings, wasting a lot of coffee.. but other than that, I love this machine.
    • A few cons - it does not brew more than 10 cups without overflowing if you don't clean out the grinder
    • We love the burr grinder, it does a great job griding the beans evenly.
    • The other issue was with the grinder getting clogged but that is also attributed to not cleaning on a regular basis.
    • As long as you buy good beans and keep the grinder clean, you'll get a good pot every time.
    • The coffee is hot, the amount of coffee ground is dictated by the amount of water (you don't have to remember to switch the number of cups) and I clean out the grinder regularly once a week to prevent clogs
    • Cuisinart Grind and brew is a great coffee maker and grinder all in one, I love it, it makes coffee fairly fast almost as fast as a bun
    • This product works wonderfully, but the user must clean the grinder regularly
    • We have had to return two of these units because the grinder stops working
    • KM7000:PROS:Superior grinder makes a better tasting cup of coffee than any other (when it works)Looks nice, smaller footprint than other grind and brewsCONS:Broke after a year of use (a common problem)Only 1 year warranty and poor customer serviceThe brew basket cover slams shut loudly after grinding beans - needs better design
    • After 2 months of use, the grinder won't work.
    • This coffee maker make excellent coffee, but every time you have to clean the grinder
    • Coffee machine works ok but the grinder stopped working in a month.. tried to return and i was couple days over the return window
    • The grinder broke down recently despite frequent cleaning - which is crucial, but which is also made extremely difficult due to the poor internal design of the unit (coffee grinds don't fall straight
    • I tried to clean out all areas of the coffeemaker, but, still no grinder.
    • and I don't have to clean the grinder every single day, which is a big plus.
    • For those that complain about how loud the grinder is
    • AWESOME, the best coffee grinder and brewer I have purchased.
    • I wouldn't have given up on them if the grinder didn't fail, but the design made it very difficult to clean the grinder.
    • makes a great cup of coffee and you can use the grinder if you'd like or make regular.
    • Almost 3 months to the day the grinder in the replacement stopped working as well.
    • Continues to be a great grinder and brewer.
    • This is a fantastic coffee maker the grinder is nice and quit it very easy to operate and set up for automatic brewing the only thing that is missing is a temp setting as to coffee warmer tends to run on the cool side just a bit but still excellent coffee maker
    • Had an old Cuisinart that you had to clean out the grinder every time you used it that I abhored, so this is 1,000 times better than that one
    • Somewhere along the way I lost the little brush that came with the unit designed for cleaning out the grinder's chute, and I broke the original glass pot by running cold water into out while it was still fresh hot from the previous brew
    • prefer the Capresso because of the grinding noise and the buttons are more intuitive, but not its reliability (many reviews talk of a failing grinder like we experienced so we don't want to go down that path again.)
    • When it was working, the grinder was somewhat annoying, some of the grinds seemed to always end up on the side of the filter container and would get into the coffee.
    • My old G&B always worked
    • The strength selector is great as I like my coffee strong
    • And if it ever fails I will immediately but another one just like it.
    • I have it set to grind for 12 cups of strong coffee but can only add enough water for just under 9 cups to get coffee as strong as I like it.
    • Other grind-n-brews we tried would beep every 2 minutes for up to an hour if we did not take the pot off.3
    • After purchasing 2 other grind-n-brews (and returning them) we ordered this one and love it!1
    • I really liked the look and convenience of the grind n brew and had good luck with Cuisinart brand coffee makers in the past but not this one.
