Cuisinart DGB-700BC Grind & Brew 12 Cup Coffeemaker (Black/Brushed Chrome)

    • First off, yes it does have a warming plate and it keeps the coffee hot
    • The hot plate was glowing red and machine was smoking and smelling of burning plastic when I got over to it (20-30 sec).
    • We decided the glass carafe rather than the thermal model specifically because of option of having a hot plate with the glass model.
    • It beeps to tell you when the coffee is ready, as well as when the warmer plate shuts off :
    • The following day I tried unplugging and re-plugging the machine in and the warming plate stayed cold and water would not pump
    • After every brew I would have to clean out the grounds from the filter before the hot plate would continue to warm the coffee pot4) sometimes it just refused to brew since it stated it was dirty5
    • I appreciate knowing when it's done brewing AND when it's about to turn off the warming plate with those beeps.
    • Unit stopped brewing and hot plate quit working 3/2/2016.
    • The warming plate seems to have overheated
    • We recently experienced the same issue as many others - after brewing one morning (we had already had out coffee - the machine was on only for the warming plate), we found the plate glowing red, and a strong burning smell
    • There is an indicater light that tells you when the shoot needs cleaned out (about once a week for us)The only thing I liked about our old coffee maker that this one does not have is the ability to turn the warming plate only on to keep coffee hot
    • THE HOT PLATE WOULD TURN OFF BEFORE IT SHOULD WITHOUT WARNING
    • Hot plate caught on fire this morning.
    • The coffee maker had already shut-off for the day.... or at least, it was supposed to have shut off, but apparently the hot plate decided to try and start a fire.
    • Made Sunday morning coffee (best cup of the entire week) and was relaxing on the couch getting ready to say Lauds when I walked in the kitchen and saw smoke coming from the warming plate and from underneath.
    • If I hadn't been in the kitchen when smoke started pouring out of the hot plate, who knows what would have happened
    • The only reason I went with this over the newer 900 model is that the other one had the thermal pot, but no warming plate
    • Don't know if the heating element went bad or the switch that starts it brewing may have gone bad since the hot plate part doesn't work either
    • The hot plate heated the pot too hot where it melted the plastic on the top of the pot2
    • however it does allow you to program the warming plate for up to 4 hours.
    • The following day I tried unplugging and re-plugging the machine in and the warming plate stayed cold and water would not pump
    • The unit we received lasted less than 3 months before the hot plate, that keeps the coffee warm, stopped working
    • Controls are fairly customizable (from brew strength to easy programming of start time, and even length of time warmer plate stays on), but are relatively intuitive and simple to master (there is an included DVD that shows all operations/cleaning instructions for those inclined to see a detailed walkthrough).
    • I removed the carafe from the hot plate just as smoke started to pour out of the unit.
    • Its a great grind and brew coffee maker, until the plate decides to overheat, turning bright red, even after the machine is turned off
    • Smoke was coming from under the machine and the warming plate was RED HOT.
    • My unit appeared to have poor insulation between the water reservoir and the electrical connection to the hot plate
    • they warming plate doesn't do anything for the coffee in the Glass pot while it
    • I've set the warmer plate to and hour before it turns
    • So i opted for the 700 series, the only difference is the hot plate and the glass carafe, and I am using my stainless carafe from the last one.
    • I figured it was the occasional drips and spills and such that finally took their toll on the electronics that were located below the pot and warming plate (not the best design). This model (so far
    • It beeps to tell you when the coffee is ready, as well as when the warmer plate shuts off :
    • , it'll work just as well as if you bothered to dry it.
    • Also the grinder is not as easy to clean as you are made to believe, if using a very moist coffee bean the grinds would end up caked in the grinding shoot and a brush would not get them out
    • Works exactly as you would expect.
    • The top easily lifts off to add the beans as well as to clean it.
