This is usually ok if you're using a light or medium roast, but with dark roasted beans which are often oilier, the beans do not travel toward the grinder easily

You do have to clean out the grind chute every week or so, especially if you like an oily roast.

The machine manufacturer suggests that a lighter roast makes less dust but we have not found this to be true.

It's a dark roast and when I set the brew control to match the number of cups of water the Cuisinart would brew me a pot of mud that would rival anything dredged out of the Mississippi river, regardless of what I set the brew strength to

Also the grinder is not as easy to clean as you are made to believe, if using a very moist coffee bean the grinds would end up caked in the grinding shoot and a brush would not get them out
