I have used the
KRUPS F203 Electric Spice and Coffee Grinder with Stainless Steel Blades
The biggest design flaw is the interior contour of the plastic lid, which has a raised ring intended to fit the circumference of the steel grinding cup, but it just creates a hard to reach ring of coffee grounds that, after a few uses, are coating the entire plastic lid interior and the base, the steel cup, the counter, etc., requiring a lot of cleaning time
This grinder has a stainless steel cup that detaches from the housing which is a nice feature.
Now in the market for another stainless steel bowl, coffee grinder.
Anything lengthier than a five second pulse results in a medium grind caking the walls of the grinding cup to form a very effective cushioning layer which protects the remaining beans from being dashed to pieces against the cold steel
I love the fact that it comes with a removal canister with lid for storage.
We had to return it to Amazon because the ground coffee leaked out as it was being ground
We have found that shaking it up/down as it grinds helps produce a very evenly ground coffee
I've loved the fact that you can remove the little grinder cup, and that it came with a lid for it, since I grind a few days worth at a time - then I can take just the cup with me when I travel or put it in the fridge to keep the coffee fresh.
I also like the fact that it is so easy to use and that you just press down on the bar on the top of the clear plastic lid to get it to grind.
This one is a little noisier but does a great job on the grinding!
Did I also mention that it does a very mediocre job grinding the beans
They simply did a poor job on grinding the beans, even at their finest settings
No only does this do a poor job of grinding beans, as it takes forever to get a good fine grind, but the poor design doesn't keep all the coffee grinds contained in the grinding cup
This grinder looks great, and it does a good job grinding
We had to return it to Amazon because the ground coffee leaked out as it was being ground
I bought this to grind flax seeds and like 2 design features: being able to clean the components easily, and the insulated motor which is quieter than my old coffee grinders.
It is a shame because it is such a nice feature to have, but clearly Cuisinart missed the mark on this product.
Difficult to clean and the detachable bowl feature is eliminated
I like the simpleness of use, and the removable bowl with a storage cover is kind of a nice feature
Well on the second one, the stainless bowl (it holds the beans and grinder blade) got stuck on the grinder and would not come off
The grinder still works, but it is much more difficult to clean the grinding bowl now
Now in the market for another stainless steel bowl, coffee grinder.
It doesn't take up much space in my pantry and I like that it comes with a lid for the grinding bowl, so you can always remove the bowl and put the lid on it, if you ground some extra coffee
There are two tabs on the bowl assembly that lock into place on the motor base, and they unlock just fine when I twist the bowl
There's a tiny gap between the removable metal cup and the lid, and while grinding, the coffee grounds work their way between that space, so that when you take off the lid, there is no way to avoid the grounds ending up all over the counter, and generally just all around the surface and edge of the grinder
I've tried mixing the grinds with a spoon or my finger half way through grinding to get the coffee dust (fine grounds) mixed with the boulders but to no avail
As you see from the picture, the grinder cup doesn’t go all the way to the top of the lid
It doesn't completely grind all of the beans, even with small amounts grounds work their way under the lip and get all over the place.
When grinding the coffee beans, it pushes the ground coffee up and to the sides, and without a seal on the lid, some coffee does make its way to the top and overflows, which frustrates my wife
, it's relatively quiet but when I pulled it out today to grind some flax seeds, the basket would not come off
I bought this to grind flax seeds and like 2 design features: being able to clean the components easily, and the insulated motor which is quieter than my old coffee grinders.
I was hoping to be able to grind flax seeds and herbs as well as coffee without mixing flavors (plastic retains flavor which I didn't want)
I used it just about everyday to grind coffee beans (once to grind coriander seeds).
Although I have found some acceptable uses for this device, it is really only useful as a seed or herb "pre-grinder", that is, to start grinding materials that will be finished in one of my other grinders
