Maybe my 8 year old unit is different than what is sold now, but I've read reviews for coffee grinders costing hundreds+ and they all have negative reviews

I put this on my wedding registry because it was "Amazon's Choice" and had great reviews

I realize that sometimes products can be lemons and do not like to submit bad reviews on DOA products so was willing to try another

and i was floored by the overwhelming negative reviews
