I was hoping to be able to grind flax seeds and herbs as well as coffee without mixing flavors (plastic retains flavor which I didn't want)

I bought this to grind flax seeds and like 2 design features: being able to clean the components easily, and the insulated motor which is quieter than my old coffee grinders.

I can put some flax seeds or spices in and in under a minute (probably much less) it is perfectly finely ground and ready for use.

I do not own a home coffee maker (aside from a stovetop cappucino maker) so I actually bought this to grind spices and seeds, not coffee.

Although I have found some acceptable uses for this device, it is really only useful as a seed or herb "pre-grinder", that is, to start grinding materials that will be finished in one of my other grinders

I used it just about everyday to grind coffee beans (once to grind coriander seeds).

Gets flax seeds ground up finely with are great for smoothies and help the body absorb the nutrient.

With a name like Cuisinart, I would think that R&D would have solved this problem before putting the unit on the market
