Hope this machine lasts a long time, because I love it and don't want to go back to the old style electric freezer or one that requires freezing the canister prior to making ice cream.
-
His tip about pre cooling the "canister" and his max
-
No need to pre-freeze the canister
-
Canister with a handle is nice too.
-
The one that required you freeze the canister at least 36 hours prior to each use.
-
The only negatives, which did not keep me from giving it 5 stars, are- the timer defaults to 60 minutes where 45 minutes is usually correct for most ice creams- while the removable canister is easy to clean, overflow (which will happen every so often if you make a bunch of ice cream) makes a mess and is not that easy to clean out of the cracks and crevicesAs other reviewers have mentioned, wiping the canister dry with a cloth between batches is important
-
I purchased another ice cream maker that you freeze the canister in your freezer.
-
If you're like me and have limited freezer space, this machine is a great improvement over the type that requires you to freeze a canister for 24 hours before using
-
If you want to make lots of ice cream and/or you're prone to forgetting to freeze a canister on manual models, this is for you.
-
Can't do that with the traditional ice cream machines that require freezing the canisters.
-
I used to use one of the frozen canister models to make ice cream
-
I freeze the canister with the paddle and ingredients in it for at least 30 minutes to an hour before making the ice cream.
-
Doesn't freeze as hard as I would like, however placing mix after freezing in freezer for about 1 hour gave it good body
-
Perfect for the lazy af people who still want to show prowess in the kitchen.- super easy to use- super easy to CLEAN- makes ice cream smooth as
-
This item freezes as it stirs.
-
Also the ICE-100 doesn't freeze as to the soft serve stage so you have to let the ice cream harden in the freezer for at least a couple hours
-
Advantage of the ICE-100 is you can use it continuously over and over to freeze as much as you want, whereas the pre-freezable unit is a one-time use then need to refreeze for ~24 hours
-
My husband bought this, and at first I grumbled
-
n’t take a chance on this device, it wont work and Cuisinart wont back up their device.
