The back plastic broke off after less than one year

When I removed this from the box, my first impression was that this was cheap plastic (because it is)

The design of the plastic it too weak to support the action, motion, and weight of the machine properly and it is likely pushed to failure due to thermal degradation from heat cycles causing the plastic to become brittle and more prone to cracking

plastic is what you get at this price point these days, sorry!

Don't much like the cheap plastic base and no overflow channel.

Very easy to use, and my waffles turned out perfect!I like my waffles golden, so I experimented and found that #3 setting was too light, so I jumped to #4 setting (much better), and then #5 setting was exactly what I was looking for.
