David Clark DC PRO-X Hybrid Electronic Noise-Cancelling Aviation Headset

    • But I think DC Pro-X may be even better for jet pilots in quieter cockpit.
    • Where the DC Pro fell short of my expectations was in the noise attenuation and noise canceling departmentI recently flew a 737 (Notoriously noisy cockpit) trip where I compared my Bose A20 to my David Clark DC Pro in a side by side comparison over a 3 day 18 hour trip.
    • The David Clark PRO-X is by far the best solution for airline pilots flying in a noisy cockpit (such as B737 which is what I currently fly).
    • So a good effort from DC but not a viable option in noisy cockpits
    • I am an ERJ-145 pilot and it does a superb job canceling out the white noise in its rather loud cockpit, and it is comfortable enough to wear for 5-8 hours a day with no problem
    • It is lightweight, compact and does a wonderful job of quieting the cockpit of the company King Air.
    • It flashes every few seconds and really bothers you in a dark cockpit
    • The 747 is a loud cockpit and it definitely tames the wind noise at higher indicated airspeeds; 340 knots plus
    • I am working to try and find a good ear plug to wear underneath these in the noisy 737 cockpit just for some extra high frequency noise reduction.
    • For jet pilots, Pro-X may be better suited than Bose A20 because of comfort, and ironically A20's superior noise reduction may actually become a disadvantage in quieter cockpits (several said A20 made it hard to hear their co-pilots).DC Pro-X's construction/material quality is excellent.
    • but if you turn it on it is a very noticeable difference in how quiet the cockpit can be
    • For them who wants a comperation with A20 I can say that I fly 737(700-800-900) and I am sure you know it has a noisy cockpit
    • There's never been an issue hearing any of the cockpit chimes and alarms, flight attendants knocking on the door, etc
    • Works well in noisy jet cockpit.
    • I'd recommend paying for the cheaper version if you are flying something with a quiet cockpit unless you find you need to use a Bluetooth paring device.
    • This is a very comfortable and compact headset, but is suitable only for quieter cockpits
    • Would buy again and highly recommend for any noisy cockpit
