The machine is nicely thin like many work oriented laptops, but powerful enough to be pushed with satisfaction.

But honestly for the price, this is a great little machine.

It may seem inexpensive and fairly low end, but it provides good performance without using too much energy

In my case, I want something that got good build quality/materials, lightweight, high-end specs, and can handle my wide range of tasks

You’ll still need to wipe it down to keep things clean looking

The overall look and packaging of this computer is nice

The power button is also a fingerprint reader and it works well and is ver clean looking with no labels on the button

Of course you will likely be using a mouse (or controller) if you are using this for gaming but the trackpad is nice for everyday browsing and computer use

With an external 144hz display and an external GPU, I do believe this CPU could be powerful enough for high frame rate gaming, although I haven’t tried this myself, and it takes away a lot of the portability aspect of the laptop

Yes, it does have a powerful 8th generation i7-8750H CPU and it does have the fantastic GTX 1050ti GPU which provides excellent performance with low power draw, but with 256gb hard drive and 4gb RAM, it’s not going to excel at modern games, especially anything first or third person

You will of course want to be plugged in as much as possible, as the battery won’t last long when the CPU and GPU are working at their hardest

The i7 in my unit is more powerful than I expected for a low power version that leans more on battery life than it does on power

Core ProcessorOne of the best chips available for laptops, the Core i9 chip is the fastest chip available but very few laptop makers have proper cooling to prevent the chip from throttling under heavy use

On a desk surface, the sound is reflected well enough so that it sounds fine

How does Dell stay in the business of selling laptops to the public if their customer service has become this bad?Despite the difficulty I have been having with customer service, I was going to give it one more shot with Dell, but after reading all of the complaints in discussion forums about the problems other customers have had with the XPS 15 9570 and 9560 (dead pixels, display backlight bleeding, coil whine, poor quality control on the fittings, not going to sleep properly and overheating in backpacks), I am worried what the experience might be like if I actually manage to get one of their laptops and need support with a technical problem

and I was dealing with screen flicker issues and the track pad intermittently not working.

(I slightly prefer the MBP screen, for its slight added height, which helps when displaying two full pages of text simultaneously, but that too is included in the 512GB version of this PC.)Overall, an excellent computer at a very attractive price

They aren't exactly twins, but clearly from the same design family (see photo), and both very fast with great screens

After a few days with it and after 2 BIOS updates I have noticed a better battery life than before, browsing and youtubing now gets me around 7 hours, which is still a fa cry from the promised 12+

I would have just wished a better battery life, never ran out of it but still stressing out when seeing how few remains after 30 min of use

Also during this time the laptop has crashed twice while doing basically nothing... not gaming, not editing videos

The XPS 9570 is probably the worst laptop experience I've ever had
