" .. it's a premium laptop indeed with a magnificent display .. it also include finger print scanner wich is one of my concerns .. just one word "Perfect".
Otherwise this is a fast, beautiful machine with the best display on a laptop that money can buy.
Powerful enough to deal with 3D modeling without eating up all the battery.- Gorgeous 4K display.
The XPS has a much sturdier hinge, brighter and more accurate 4k display and better build quality
I considered just getting rid of all of Dell's programs, but part of the reason I got this laptop was for the color-accurate display, and I don't want to lose control over how the screen functions.- Screen flickering is real.
There is a lot to like about this laptop - the screen is beautiful, it's a solid build, the keyboard is firm and easy to type on - LOTS to like.
I like that the keyboard still has "home" and "end" buttons (accessed with the fn key)
The keyboard is excellent as well... as the keys have that "just right" feel to them, and they are responsive without offering too much or too little resistance
The keys feel a little gummy when pressed, though, so beware if you prefer keyboards with really high tactile feedback (like
They are all relatively fast compared to the old spinning hard disks, but when you pay for a premium product you expect it to work as it was advertised via the reviewers
Two stars because the system is usable with some tweaking and personal adjustments, but for the expectations set by the hardware specs and price, the experience falls very short of expectations.
I should have sent it back immediately, but I instead went to dell.com and installed the operating system fresh along with the Dell drivers
However, I"m not too happy about the 4k screen, it costs a lot extra, but it takes weeks to get one of the 1080p versions, time I didn't have
You could say this laptop is a bona fide "overachiever" as not only is this a great workstation laptop, it's also a VERY capable gaming system
Make no mistake, if you have a great wifi system, this laptop will more than be able to take advantage of it, but I often need to work with ethernet, so I killed two birds with one stone by buying a USB 3.0 hub with ethernet.
It will take some getting used to for sure-The carbon fiber while very good looking leaves smudges pretty easily so prepare for that- Fan noise is lower than some but still audible if you are putting the laptop under a heavy load
Cosmetically, I could have done without the "carbon fiber" look, I prefer the aluminum look of their cheaper line, but that's just personal preference
and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a portable (for a 15.6" laptop), respectable business-looking, gaming ready (Overwatch, Diablo 3, Smite, Rocket League), 4k screen laptop
I definitely recommend looking into a computer from a better company like Lenovo

Excellent machine (5 stars), except for the wifi which is sometimes unstable (Killer) as per other reviews (drops down to 3 stars). Most of the time the wifi fine, but sometimes it start loses packets randomly and need to reset the adapter to get it back working.
I totally recommend this machine to anyone who need a powerful and working laptop.
That said, this is a great machine and seemingly very powerful
Dealing with this defective machine became a part time job
And I have little confidence that the machine I'll get back in the mail will even be 100% working at this point
The build quality is superb, the screen is insane (seriously can't stop showing everyone), and I have a $3000 Macbook equivalent for $1500
the build quality of the shell is absolutely outstanding
I can understand if this type of lacking quality came from a $500 laptop, but this level of poor quality control from a $1500-$2200 laptop is unacceptable
Overall good laptop, build quality is great and specs as well
My goal was to find a laptop that had enough power for basic 3D modeling, a color-accurate screen for design purposes, and strikes a good balance between powerful hardware and battery life.
but I found the screen to not be very color accurate and a bit dim as well as the hinge wasn't as sturdy as I needed it to be, and the battery life was also not wonderful
The battery life is so long that I can spend an entire workday without a charger, but having to turn up the brightness quickly kills it.
Battery life is also very good and 4K video editing in premier pro works like a dream.

I updated to windows creators edition and ran into driver issues with the display drivers and had to manually install the newest versions from Intel and nvidia myself as well as reinstalling dell premier color app (which had stopped changing color spaces after changing the display drivers)

The Blade and XPS both use igzo tech, but somehow the Blades high res screen is completely unusable to me (grainy and w/ terrible colors)
But Dell's premier color app constantly overrides the screen brightness, meaning I have to manually change the brightness whenever I want that to happen.
It loses a star because of the stuff I had to do when I got it
The software issues do knock a star off, but since they're all solvable there's little reason to run from the XPS.

The 9560 also has all a variety of plug in options, 2 USB 3.0 slots, an HDMI 1.4, and a USB type c Thunderbolt 3, as well as an SDI card slot.... sweet
It feels a bit more abrupt when typing and definitely will take some getting used to after using the Lenovo Yoga for a couple weeks.
No dead pixels, no wobble when typing, no freezing, no BSOD, no screen flickering, no slow Wi-Fi speeds.....etc

I even disregarded all the warnings against the wifi and screen flickering
No dead pixels, no wobble when typing, no freezing, no BSOD, no screen flickering, no slow Wi-Fi speeds.....etc
The USB-C port is a fully featured one, not just USB 3.0 with a C connector - it supports alternative modes for output display and so forth
when you take it out of the box you'll have one issue after another (especially screen flickering) until you update the bios (go to Dell support & enter your service tag, you'll find it)
Crashes occasionally and the screen flickers black randomly.
Random freezes (1 to 10 seconds)- Screen glitches (black, white and green bars appearing randomly)- Noticeable cursor lag (both external mouse and touch-pad)- Coil whine (very loud and noticeable)- Rattling fan (

uneven, bad viewing angles, dead pixels, random crashes...also got the slower Toshiba SSD which is not the Samsung that Dell shipped to reviewers

I actually feel LUCKY that I didn't wind up with all the other issues Dell refuses to fix on this model like dead pixels, wireless card that throttles itself, uneven chassis that rattles when you type, etc.
Since I bought the laptop 4 months ago, it's had the SSD crash, then the keyboard break, and now it's having weird power issues, plus multiple pixels are dead

And with 6 million more pixels than Full HD and 3 million more than the MacBook Pro, you can edit images with pinpoint accuracy without worrying about blurriness or jagged lines.
