De'Longhi KG89 Burr Coffee Grinder with Grind Selector and Quantity Control

    • In this era of planned obsolescence, 4 1/2 years for $53 isn't too bad
    • At first this thing was amazing, but I am disappointed it lasted me exactly 3 years and then crapped out
    • one year and six month of use in a single person house hold making no more then 2 cup on the busiest day this machine had and the motor burned up...it bogged down while i was out of the room and just quit since it was past
    • I did a side-by-side comparison with a cheap years-old blade grinder that has served me well, and with grinds from both in two piles on a plate it is obvious that the DeLonghi grinder produces significantly larger particles than the blade grinder even on the finest setting
    • , it doesn't spill grinds all over and doesn't seem very static-y like other containers can
    • The only criticism is that the receptacle for the grounds is very static-y and hard to get all the grounds out of.
    • My two upgrade wishes would be a true anti-static plastic container (it makes a static-e mess at times) and being able to get a finer grind for espresso
    • I hate to do that, but I'm frustrated by how frequently is doesn't work as it should
