DIRECTV RC73B Universal Backlit Remote
The DIRECTV RC73B universal remote can control up to 3 devices and operates as a replacement for most DIRECTV receivers. This remote includes both infrared and RF modes and features an ergonomic design for comfortable use. For use with all new and ol...
love the simplicity of this backlit remote and it has more features than the remote that came with my DVR.....very easy to link with my TV and even easier to use....rather low-tech looking which is perfect for a low-tech person such as myself.
The backlit feature only worked for 3 days after setting up remote with my TV.
Overall it's pretty good but the backlight feature doesn't work as well as the X1 which just needed to be picked up to turn the light on
Backlighted feature is great, but it's still awkward to get used to placement of buttons, after using a Directv one for years

Could have better button placement good thing it lights up so you can see the buttons
Light button broke after 1 week, not worth going through the hassle of sending it back, don't know if these are generics or not, went ahead and got one from direct tv and its still going strong.
The button on the upper left side to turn the light on and off is hard to depress, so I don't use it except to activate the light when batteries are first inserted
Light comes on when you use any key on the remote or via a small isolated button on the left side which is very handy to use so you don't hit an errant key by accident.
This lighted remote is easier to use just wish all the buttons were illuminated and that they can standard
The ability to turn on the backlit feature is particularly nice to have when viewing shows in a dark or semi-dark room.
On the newer model, all of the keys are translucent white with black labeling, which has made them much easier to see and read while backlit in a dark room
The level of brightness of the backlight is low, perfect for a dark room.
We often watch TV in a relatively dark room and frequently struggle to find the right keys on the controller.
if i wanted another remote I couldn't see or operate in a dark room I would have just spent the $6.00.
