This item works pretty well, the only reason I did not give it five stars is because the tether seems to loosen allowing more unwanted space to get through the door

It’s a really helpful tool to make safe space for the cat but also allow her to move freely about the house when the dog is kenneled

I was hesitant at first, but this thing has been amazing!

By putting the foam over the strap such that it breaks away a little lower on my door, things are much better, if I ever get another, I still probably won’t bother leveling it out now that I have discovered this knowledge.

This thing works great--the cat simply walks through the small opening of the door, does her business and walks back out

Best thing about this product is that you can adjust to the perfect opening to make it work for your pets and the door guard keeps cats from closing themselves into the room

The adhesive is pretty strong as well as the hook and strap

It has an adjustable strap so you can accommodate chubby kitties like we have

The foam cap prevents the door from closing and the strap opens the door widely enough for the cats, but not enough to get in the way.

The door has about a 6" opening (strap is adjustable!) that only they can run through.

I would recommend the Door Buddy to all pet owners who want to limit access to their pets to any room of the house.

I was watching a dog training video on YouTube and the trainer recommended the door buddy and I went searching for it immediately.

This "Door Buddy Door Latch" has solved my problem.

Even though the Door Buddy Door Latch does stick on the door finish and if removed cause some paint to be ripped from the door, the gates can actually destroy wood

I installed the door buddy on Sunday and it was broken by Tuesday

I have a dog that enjoys our kitty’s litter box too much but he has busted the adhesive on this time and time and time again

The adhesive was very strong and bonded in 1-2 minutes.

Installation was very simple and the adhesive is SUPER strong

It only took a few days for the adhesive to give out and rip off the door trim

I did leave off one star for sturdiness because if you forget it’s there multiple times like we did, and attempt to yank open the door with the strap latched, the adhesive on the latch part will come loose

My last dog was horrible about getting in the litter boxes

One day we found the latch part broke right off because it is made of apparently brittle plastic.

Works exactly as we needed

, so it's been through some hot days

I thought I was going to have to get some high-tech, fancy dog-proof gizmo to protect the cat litter box, but instead the door buddy saved the day and the cat food in the bargain plus cat loves his dog-free space!

The white piece that the hook goes into is made of 2 pieces glued together and they aren’t attached very well since it broke the day after I installed it.

when a dog breaks through it pulls the paint off the door

My cat nudged at the door once and the sticky strip became dislodged and ripped the paint off my wall in the process.

I followed the box directions and my dog was able to push her way through, which caused the sticky pad to break away from the door and took the door paint with it.

I contacted Door Buddies and they are sending me out a paint protector and new sticky pads.

It’s only secured by sticky pads so we will see how long it lasts but no issues yet.

The other pad is just fine on the door frame with the same paint.

This worked great for about two days, our puppy pushed the door to get to the cat and the sticky pad released from the door and pulled off the paint.

After following installation directions, my 9 month puppy plowed right through breaking the latch piece right off the base that remained on the door

Not sure if this was user error or a faulty sticky piece, but wasn't very happy.
