It doesn't affect the feel or the sound of the strings, but given such a stark contrast of black coating against bright silver of the metal, the places where it rubs off are very obvious

I like the way they feel on the fingers.-good for bends and slides.cons:-scratch easily (the black coating scratches when putting on pegs and through body).-some very noticeable noise dampening on high E string towards middle of fretboard
I just love the way it makes any black guitar stand out, sadly the color wears out with the pick after a while

Even fresh these strings sounded like they had been soaked in water for weeks
I actually really like the sound of these strings, and I actually really like the feel of the coating
Because the bottom line is that when you're playing weekly if your comfort level is better with them and people don't notice the change then who cares if when not plugged in they sound a little like nylon strings and are dull sounding.
My opinion of these strings r they don't have that bright sound that non coated strings
No matter what, your ear will hear the dull thump on the low E and you'll miss that metal sound.
A lot of the critical reviews of these strings criticize the strings for sounding "dull" (which is really just another word for "dark")
