Dragon NaturallySpeaking premium 13 is definitely a worthwhile program to have if you're looking for a more reliable speech dictation with your computer

If I were to recommend to someone looking for an excellent dictation program, it would DEFINITELY be this one.

The dictation is pretty accurate, and I have no doubt that it would get better if I continued to use it

Anyway, the dictation is very accurate, and you can teach it to your own voice, accent, etc

Since I have had Dragon NS problems in the past, I uninstalled V12 using Revo Uninstall, which mostly does the program's own uninstall but then adds a hunt for leftover registry keys etc.

I'm a longtime user of Dragon NaturallySpeaking, but very frustrated and disappointed by the upgrade to 13 that now requires using the DragonPad for dictation into most applications

You'll save more time typing things out than you will trying to get this terrible software to work.

Their customer service, if you can call it that, is hard to reach in my experience and the people I've talked to act like they worked at Microsoft before -- meaning they have an offensively arrogant attitude and don't like answering questions and helping customers get the software to work

Again a very pleasant and helpful attitude, but at times difficult to understand due to international phone connection and accent.

This followed a mixed experience with DNS 11 - buggy at first but way better after the 11.5 patch, but I foolishly and naïvely hoped that Nuance had learned from their previous cascade of negative feedback to make DNS 13 a more user-friendly installation experience.

Been with this software for a long time and have never had a reliable experience

and I have not had great experiences trying the software on the bus/train/coffee shop.

This next suggestion is basically more than a suggestion: you will need to keep your hard drive as defragmented as you possibly can, and optimize the functions on Windows as best you can

The friendly message says "Correct the error and try again".Though my install choice was to install 100% of all features onto my hard drive, the setup program created a startup icon that was configured in such a way as to install on 'first use', and 10 seconds after clicking on that icon it displays messages say it can't install.

I have patiently called and recalled customer service, who have responded with remarkable incompetence (for instance, telling me to buy an external hard drive and transferring unrelated files to it to "free up memory") and passive-aggressive attitude

However, keeping your hard drive defragmented and optimized is essential

do detect a bit of improvement in the accuracy of transcription, but I'm not sure whether to attribute that to the new version of the software or the great improvement in my new computer – solid-state drive, i7 processor, 12 gig RAM

I don't know what it will take for Nuance to change their approach, and create a more user-friendly installation process and debugged program, but I'm not optimistic, given that they have heard this complaint for

ONE DAY LATERI was exhausted from the intricate process and all of the effort I had to go through to install that I decided to try to use the program the next day.

To their credit, Nuance appears to have made a conscientious effort to trim the size of DNS 13 relative to the code base size of 11 and 12, but they have not addressed the buggy and finicky install process at all.
