Used this to install 5th wheel rails and the drill bit broke on the 6th of 8 holes in the truck frame even though I stepped up beginning with 1/8”, 3/16”, 7/16” bits and used machine oil throughout
However, during the drilling I noticed that the drill is not centered, when I had the stock in the vice it would wobble side to side because the drill bit was uneven.
Good drill bit, I used it very harshly and drilled a one and a half inch hole through four inches of steel
They were big holes and the drill bit worked fantastically
this drill bit worked, but i think i should have went with the other type of bit for drilling through a 1/4 piece of steel.
Had to enlarge some holes in fairly tough steel to 7/8 inch
If you need to drill hard steel, or will be using it a lot, buy a better bit (Such as Triumph Twist Drill
This bit works OK for aluminum, but I would not use it for Steel, Let alone stainless steel
This is a massive bit for a 1/2 in drill the only thing i didn't like is it bent so soft steel it should of snapped... but cut cast like i wanted it too
I have four holes left to cut and this bit is basically worthless.
First bit cut first hole, but dulled when starting second hole
Good drill bit, I used it very harshly and drilled a one and a half inch hole through four inches of steel
This drill bit lacked flats on the shank, which made it difficult to keep it from turning in the chuck
This bit lost its edges about 1/32" into the hole which was pre-drilled to 1".The 3 facets ground into the shank are also not very effective, they need to be much deeper, my chuck just spun on them.
