Car frames are by no means hardened steel, the bit (or a good bit) should have went through them like butter

Didn't make it 1/16th inch in to soft A36 steel with a pilot hole drilled in it despite three attempts at resharpening

Have not used it in any metal but it should hold up fine in softer metals but any steel or iron it might dull after a few holes with a pre drill

Did the job on 1/32" stainless steel, after a pilot hole, but does show signs of wear after one use
