It's thickness aids cooling, it's stainless steel body protects the innards

The controls are intuitive and easy to use once you get used to them

I set the cooktop to Boil which automatically cooks on High for 10 minutes.

The unit seems to be faster than the cheaper units I have owed and holds the temperature quite well which the others did not

but I wanted it for finer temperature control and the unit I received does not do that.

Bumping the temperature setting up to 160 degrees raised it to about 158 degrees.

This unit has excellent temperature control and enough temp and power settings to be really useful.

There other cheaper units are just as good, but the lowest warm temperature on cheaper units is 140F so this one is a little better for keeping things warm.3

The Duxtop Professional Portable Induction Cooktop is exactly that: a portable one-burner cooktop that heats pans through induction, unlike radiant/electric or gas stoves

Personally I will use the Isiler whenever I need an extra burner to complement my gas stove, since it fits compactly in a lower kitchen cabinet, slid in on its edge, against the cabinet's side wall.

Burner works well but the fan and button beeping is rather loud

Cast iron (As shown) seems to provide the best Heat distribution, which I’m sure is true with any type of cooktop

I started out both with a cold pan and cold tap water that measured 54 degrees to start

I made some caramel in the shiny steel pan in the photo.

I gave it 5 stars because it's sturdy enough to hold a large soup pot and still boil water in a little pot

I had a hard rolling boil in 6 minutes which is less time than it would have been on the stovetop plus the handles were barely warm to the touch.

The Isiler came to a rolling boil at the 4 minute mark

The Duxtop was quicker, coming to a rolling boil in 3 minutes
