Other than the static IP address for my problem of not being able to connect at all, there seems to be no other workaround right now

The one downfall would be that it took some router manipulation to set the unit to a static IP and ensure Alexa had consistent connection to stream any music

The internet provider said it was limiting to go to static IP address and why was I letting a 250 dollar device dictate things when they are working for everything else

When there was continued failure to connect to home WiFi, the Rep told me to call my internet provider and get them to issue a static IP address rather than dynamic IP.

Technical support was on point and advised me to setup a static IP.
