The Arduino itself works great, and the silkscreened labels on the sides of the connectors are quite helpful.
It's no different than a Genuine Arduino from what I can tell
The arduino is nice and perfectly compatible with everything, the breadboard is high quality, the motors and modules are the standard stuff everyone else sells.
I looked at YouTube videos showing genuine Arduino and clones and how the clones are poorly put together but this kit is very nice
Besides the teaching aspect of the starter kit, I found that the Elegoo Uno R3 was in every respect just as good as the Arduino.
It features some of the basic elements of what they are probably using in their projects at school and as others have mentioned, there is a great deal of content for the price
I have tried everything else, but a package deal is only a good deal if all the components work.
Overall, even with the faulty part it's a great deal and I am pretty satisfied with the product
I think for the price and the possibilities of what you can do, this is a great deal.
I got it as a Lightning deal at ~20 odd bucks, well worth it!
The included DVD has some cool projects, but I found them too underexplained to really learn from
Hours of endless fun, can't wait to make some cool projects
n’t go crazy while working on a
The projects are very boring, and very difficult to modify the software unless you are thoroughly well-versed in Arduino, highly recommend before you tackle this to get the Arduino for dummies and become intimately acquainted with the language, that will make the projects in this kit much more enjoyable I imagine.
It comes with enough components to learn, but not enough to make any meaningful projects.
Suggest that they improve the breadboard contacts somehow.- The files on the CD are very long names, and some files are in two places, becoming redundant.- Tutorial is easy to figure out, but lacks full instructions for Linux.- Tutorial lesson numbers are off
okay, the board powers up and the servo turns and you can tweak the code and learn a few things, but this kit is not designed for a real beginner like me because the PDF tutorials are very lacking in the more advanced lessons
The included tutorials are clear and concise for the most
The tutorial could use an improvement but there are plenty of youtube tutorials that are just as good, just type in 'Arduino Beginner Tutorials'
but if you need to learn both hardware AND code, the tutorials in this kit will fall a little
The colorful jumper wires in the kit, to interconnect with the UNO proved to have extremely fine wire between the end probes resulting in a resistance of around half ohm, which makes those jumpers a source of error when trying to make accurate measurements
The included large breadboard and jumper wires don't quite work together; the wires fit loosely and don't always go straight in
I wouldn't recommend using the cheap wires included since they tend to have loose connection.
Some took a lot of diagnosing to figure out that the wire was bad and others just wouldn't work at all because the relay was garbage
Turns out that *19* of the included wires were bad, and I used 2 of the bad wires to light an LED
Bottom line: I honestly know nothing about the programming side of this; I successfully uploaded the "Blink" sketch. . . which was already running by default when I powered up my board, and I modified the delay values to dim the onboard led before grabbing the included bright white LED and changing the values to create a strobe light effect and irritate my wife. .
Some parts could be a little better such as the potentiometers, and the resistors have pretty flimsy leads but can you really complain for the price?
UPDATE - As of 2/17/17, I've changed my review from three to four star (and separately gave the company a five star rating) because a product representative contacted me about the bad leads I complained about in my original review, and eventually sent me an entire new kit.
The only complaint I have so far are that the resistors have very small leads and don't work well in the breadboard.
Works as it should be

The kit came complete the only drawback is the jumper wires have the wrong gauge pins on them, they do not fit snug in the breadboard
Also I broke a pin on a Relay, notified Elegoo and they sent 3 free replacements.
I also ordered a Elegoo Mega board which had a nonfunctioning A0 (analog) pin, which also disabled the other 15 analog pins when a low voltage was applied to it
When the voltage regulator on this board fails, it will send input voltage straight through to the USB output port as well as the pins for the breadboard rail causing unintended effects in your project (Arduino expecting 5V over USB does not appreciate a 9V input).
