I found it easiest to mount using large ceiling anchors hanging it by S-hooks on the back holes as they explain, correcting for the awkward way it hangs by screwing small 3/4-inch blocks against the rear mounting bracket so it could rest against the square crown moulding it was butt up against.
I understand they have limited options since they can't have it stick out the back, since then you couldn't wall mount this directly to a wall, but there's still better ways this could've been done
I didn't time the up/down time but would put it at about 1 minute each way, very quiet and smooth.
Screen came damage and they do not pack or deliver right way.
My theater room is 20'x20' and I have to sit way at the back to appreciate this thing.

First one reached damaged, the Elite shipped an another immediately with extra packing
I am giving the product a 3 star rating because of the rude / non-existent customer service (they could have at least apologized or went about it differently) and the crappy shipping
The scuff marks are not visible when an image is on the screen, but it is frustrating that this happened purely from something as silly as shipping.
For the price, it can't be beat, especially with free shipping
The shipping was fast and box got here with no scratches.

The motor on the unit I received was also making a thuding sound as the screen moved up and down, however, after about a week of use the thud'ing stopped and everything works as advertised
It probably doesn't matter but it didn't seem right to stress the motor and screen unnecessarily.
The motor is smooth albeit slow, but really, who cares as long as it doesn't take ten minutes.
Let it sit open for a week to allow the screen fabric to relax and then enjoy the smooth motor action.
If not hung level the screen can ride to on side, straining the motor and causeing a "curl" along the side

I can say the same: My screen has a particularly strong chemical odor - actually, a vinyl odor.
The strong vinyl odor is just about completely gone, except if you get up real close to the screen and take in a wif of air
and I just used 6 heavy duty toggle bolts along with the sturdiest L-brackets I could find

I opened it once the professional hired to install it arrived and to my sad sad surprise the black frame is bent in the middle with a remarkable V shape, it look as a mouth in the middle beat up all around

In addition, Elite Screens mentions that you will need to keep the screen rolled down for a couple of days to help with any possible wrinkle or curl issues (and also to help dissipate the chemical odor as well).Others have reported issues when scenes with panning took place: I have not seen any issues whatsoever on scenes with panning in them.
