If you are looking for a darker tone, I would recommend the Eminence Big Ben speaker as it tends to be less bright sounding
-
Overall, for the price I cannot complain, and assume its much better than a low end Celestion, although hearing it makes me want to try other Eminence speakers with hopes to get the best sound possible
-
It's not bad, and this is a good sounding speaker
-
I use mine in a vibroverb, and I love the sound
-
Really improved the sound of my old Gibson Skylark amp.
-
The CTS speakers could be a bit harsh sounding at times, but the 1058's have a nice balance tone
-
These are amazing sounding speakers
-
For example, The sound from loud amps like Marshals and Fenders are very irritating to my ears, so I based my choice on reviews and information shared by amazon customers as well as on other websites and forums
-
-inexpensive-sounds great-highs are not pingy
-
As the speaker has been broken in, it has sounded better and better
-
but that's all still possible with manipulation of the the tone control on the guitar (you probably won't get as dark a sound before getting to pure muffledness)
-
Great sound for classic rock tones
-
I pulled the lame sounding, stock, low budget Chinese made speaker out of my Pignose G40V. For years, I used the Pignose as a head only
-
I'm glad I did because it has the smooth sound I want
-
I suspect it will handle much more power than the 25 watt Frontman has...since the Frontman costs $100 new, I didn't want to spend too much on a replacement speaker...as good as this one sounds, I am now wondering if I should have spent another $10-20 for the next one up the line!
-
It's easily 10dB louder than the stock speaker and sounds noticeably better.
-
The circuits were separated into a stereo set up to be able to plug in two different guitar amps to enhance sound
-
If you tend to like alnico sounds, you might like that
-
The bad unit also had intermittent coil rubbing which resulted in some odd sounds
