Don't use the built in sound with my system, but the image clarity and brightness works very well in our home theater/library room.

This is great projector because my first other brand was not great regarding resolution and brightness

I use the Eco mode to extend the lamp life but even in Eco mode the brightness, color and contrast is very good

so we didn’t know what to expect, but the quality of picture is great and brightness also great

would someone very happy with BENQ, buy EPSON instead of another new model of BENQ?-Wanted to experience something different.-EPSON have placed this projector under HOME CINEMA category, hence i assumed its made mainly for movies.-I think EPSON is far bigger brand than BENQ-Amazon positive reviews and some site like PC Mag amateurishly saying its great.-Better 3D quality

So, bottom line: great image quality, kinda crappy connectivity for Apple devices, poor documentation, needlessly cumbersome network setup/configuration.

The initial setup was so easy that all we did was plug in our Roku and began watching.

And if your device supports Miracast, you'll have a quick and easy setup for that as well

The setup was very easy as the projector has multiple options for picture adjustment - zoom, focus, horizontal shift (up and down) and keystone adjustments for tilt and edges.

Setup is very quick, and it's pretty much seamless the whole way through.

This Epson Home Cinema 2150 is an excellent, large lens projector, that works great with my Amazon Fire TV Stick (the pics of the back are shown w my Fire Stick-not included- in the HDMI 1 slot), to bring the large screen TV experience to any room in our home, including outside

From that distance the smallest diagonal image is 82" with an available lens shift of 8"

Second, the unit only has vertical lens shift, which limits where you can mount it, I will need to move my mount slightly to account for the lack of zoom and horizontal lens shift, but considering the cost that's ok

The largest diagonal image is 132" with an available lens shift of 11.5"

What you also don't get is fine quality focus or lens that you would on +$1000 units

I also needed a screen to watch the shows on as my walls aren't white and the colors would look really weird

Even the $1,000+ systems had serious problems with brightness, color saturation and lack of definition due to the nature of non-HD content at the time

Again, I'm thinking using an actual projector screen and darker colored walls will improve the overall contrast significantly

The built-in speakers help you get up and running immediately, but if you are mounting this to the ceiling at home you'll want to invest in a good sound system.

I am very glad we invested in this and glad we went with the screen we did, the screen is more expensive than a lot of them but item you is worth it, could that with a fairly cheap surround sound

We'd highly recommend a good sound system, as that does make a big difference.

I also found that with my 3600e, when supplementing the sound through a very expensive sound system, that I could never get the sound from the projector to sync with my home audio system

In a dark room the 60,000/1 contrast ratio really helps darken the blackest bits of the image.

60K contrast ratio gets you very sharp images and 2500 + Lumens get you good clear image even when room is not dark

I imagine if the room is warm and the lamp is on normal, you might have the fan kick on high more often but so far it hasn't been an issue for me

The old MovieMate does not project well in anything other than a completely dark room

If you are used to projectors of old, large things with poor light, expensive bulbs, and less than stellar contrast ratio, boy will you be in for a shock

I know i will have some cons while buying DLP projector like bulb cost, light leaking

but I'd rather replace a cheap filter than a burnt out expensive bulb

Obviously the bulb is very bright to produce such a high quality/high contrast picture, so there is expected to be some heat generated.

but I really don't see the need to be in that mode since Natural mode is enough with low fan noise.

The HT2050 also has a more easy to ignore and subtle fan noise

The fan noise is minimal and over all a very quiet operating projector.

I would say that under proper lighting conditions the picture is just as crisp, clear and bright as you would get from a standard LCD display of roughly the same size
