  • It's my paper of choice, it has the perfect balance of lustre and fine art mat quality with that real fiber look
  • I'm looking to order some Epson Traditional Fiber based paper for another project and am looking forward to it - I an only imagine how Fiber paper or Fine Art will look! It's so clever, you press print, and the wireless method is blindingly fast
  • UPDATEMade a complete set of Prints on what I believe to be The Best Photographic paper for this printer - Epson Traditional Photo paper, also known as Epson Exhibition Fine Art Fiber paper
  • For BW it's simply superb, I would not use mat fine art paper for BW as this has so much depth to it and is a different class
  • Just starting to do some tests via sample pack fine art as well as the Epson premium photo glossy/lustre paper

Reviews around tech support (5.00 of 5)

  • I contacted Epson Tech Support and was instructed to clean the print head (after two weeks of ownership and maybe 20 prints.
  • I've had a couple of Epson printers, but their tech support is non-existent in the US.
  • I bought this to replace my faithful Epson R-1800 which recently shuffled off this moral coil (croaked)

  • I also printed B&W on this same paper and the results were fantastic - don't ever expect the same as a traditional expertly done darkroom wet print on high quality Fiber paper - but expect something which is about as good as it gets in BW
  • Amateur Photographer gave it 5/5 stars in the latest review, and the results are superior to any other comparable printer out there! So bottom line is, if you're thinking about buying this but cannot decide between this or the R2000 or R3000 - or Canon/HP offerings, just go for this, it is Seiko Epson's latest offering and has their latest and best results and user friendliness
  • This is a great price for a solidly built easy to use printer that so far has produced great results for every print I have made
  • I bought this to replace my faithful Epson R-1800 which recently shuffled off this moral coil (croaked)

  • a photo of Barmouth Harbour which was shot with Agfa Ultra 100 and a 21mm Biogon lens on a Contax G2.The print was sublime, lush, saturated popping colours without looking garish, fine detail, great shadow detail and gorgeous
  • The colour is wonderful, the gradients and tonality is astounding

Reviews around print quality (4.26 of 5)

  • The print quality, done the correct way, with the correct profile, and with the relevant paper is simply breathtaking
  • Print quality deteriorated on my last production run and I ran all the required print head cleaning routines, etc
  • Flawless, gob smackingly brilliant!I then went straight into my project which consisted of three prints to be mounted and framed - these were to replace identical photographs I had done in a Lab on Fuji Crystal Archive paper - and the three prints I made (on Epson Ultra Glossy Photo) simply BLEW the lab prints away in all ways - sure the Lab prints weren't professional

  • If you want the satisfaction of printing a great photo on the spot like I do then this may be the best printer on the market.
  • so I don't know how the other reviewer manged to rip his up!Apple Photo's works great!Use Colorsync to install the ICC profiles for other papers
  • This printer is best for few quality prints such as photos.
  • Prints excellent photos while it lasts...and thats about all the good that I can say about it
  • If you want a great photo printer this is as good as it gets for the money

Reviews around customer (3.86 of 5)

  • I bought this to replace my faithful Epson R-1800 which recently shuffled off this moral coil (croaked)
  • Add that to the hundreds of dollars required to purchase authentic Epson ink cartridges, and you have a Epson corporation - rich and happy - and a loyal customer who's out $1,000+ dollars, and has no printer at all
  • I've been a good customer to them - but it will be the last Epson product I purchase.
  • Horrible customer service and tech support.

Reviews around way (3.61 of 5)

  • The print quality, done the correct way, with the correct profile, and with the relevant paper is simply breathtaking
  • EPSON seriously recommend unplugging the printer each time it is switched off, in the same answer they mention that this will trigger a printhead cleaning cycle which is resulting in a significant and costly ink consumption (a nice way of making money out of a faulty design).
  • There are also some Epson phone apps that allow you to print photos directly from your phone over the wifi connection (not something I'd do often, but on rare occasion it makes a convenient way to get prints for visiting relatives, etc).My primary issue with the printer so far is the way it shares a line between the photo black ink and the matte black ink

Reviews around head (3.22 of 5)

  • Head clogs often.....
  • It may be due to the fact I didn't print enough with them and the heads got so clogged they needed to be replaced.
  • I contacted Epson Tech Support and was instructed to clean the print head (after two weeks of ownership and maybe 20 prints.
  • My only wish that is Epson (like HP and Canon) made the printer with user replaceable print heads
  • Service center informed me of the international purchase (via Amazon), no warranty and expect $200+/head plus service to repair if they cannot soak and clean the print heads

  • I contacted Epson Tech Support and was instructed to clean the print head (after two weeks of ownership and maybe 20 prints.
  • I bought this to replace my faithful Epson R-1800 which recently shuffled off this moral coil (croaked)
  • Just like my previous Epson Printers that died after 2 years, even at low volume prints, my P-600 quit working right at 2 years from the purchase date.
  • Epson was adamant that they could not help because printer is past 1 year warranty
  • Although the printer is still under warranty, Epson is now REFUSING to honor their stated warranty because it was not sold through one of their "authorized" resellers

  • reviewer was probably unlucky as happens with electronic items at times
  • I bought this to replace my faithful Epson R-1800 which recently shuffled off this moral coil (croaked)
  • Another reviewer (on amazon.co.uk) has complained about the print not looking as if it's a part of the paper, and looking as if it's over it
  • I had a similar problem as many other reviewers out there with the printer failing shortly after the warranty period was up

  • I am choosing NOT to go the route of some customers here and ship this printer with its full set of expensive ink cartridges back to Amazon, only to have this process repeated again
  • EPSON seriously recommend unplugging the printer each time it is switched off, in the same answer they mention that this will trigger a printhead cleaning cycle which is resulting in a significant and costly ink consumption (a nice way of making money out of a faulty design).
  • That's $558 per year for two sets of tiny cartridges, more than 2.5 times what I was paying for the other (also overpriced) ink
  • Using any third party paper gives much less than the desired result - I am having to spend valuable time, wasting expensive ink testing other profiles to try and get it to print on glossy card stock.
